Tony is a great instructor who is very patient and pays attention to detail when teaching us the techniques and forms. I have had a positive experience learning and training Kung fu and kickboxing with Tony.

Joining Krav Maga Toronto was the best decision I made in 2017 and for life. Krav Maga as a self defence is super practical. However, what separates KMT from the rest is that I don’t feel like I’m paying for a “gym membership”, I refer to it as a school - a school of thought. As Rob (Chief Instructor) does an amazing job at leading and selecting the best instructors to teach the classes and also the instructors really do care about their students and their growth. It goes beyond just the physical aspect of groin kicks and punching pads. KMT will challenge you both physically and mentally (if you allow it) and you will be surprised what you will get from it. Pat and Steve were my first instructors and they both made me feel very welcomed right away - you just gotta get their humour :). The students that attend the school are awesome and we're like one big happy community of good human beings colliding on the mats. I am leaving for a backpacking trip this week and I will truly miss this place. If I can pack KMT into my bag, I would. That's all I gotta say.

I have twin 4-year-old boys. Keeping them disciplined and engaged (long-term) in any activity is never easy. Black Belt World have a great team of instructors that has a unique way of 'connecting' with young kids and teaching them discipline and respect (in addition to self-defense skills). Our boys love being there.

The staff at TKMT are very knowledgeable and have lots of years of experience. You can definitely learn and significantly improve your Muay Thai caliber by training here. The facilities are always kept clean and the environment is always friendly and welcoming. Try a class here and find out for yourselves.

Just dont waste your money

Booth our kids have been taking classes at this dojo for over 5 years now. We started on the Danforth location & followed them to their current location on Broadview/Mortimer. The teachers are very good with children of all ages. They are firm but respectful of each child. We make our schedules work on Saturdays just so they can learn from Sensi Hiromi. We have & will continue to recommend this dojo to our friends.

A great club with a really welcoming atmosphere and top-notch Instruction. Toronto NoGi's head instructor Ian is a well established black belt under Professor Robert Drysdale and is a wealth of knowledge in all things jiu jitsu. I would recommend this gym to anyone in Toronto looking to train!

My 4 year old daughter and I both train at Northern Karate Leslieville. Renshi White is a great instructor with a great balance of discipline/respect and fun/games in the children's class. In the adults class he is hands-on and involved with all the students and it feels like a very personalized program. I would recommend Northern Karate schools Leslieville.

This is Toronto's best! Master Hamid Hajioghli is very professional and teaches the best discipline and techniques. I thank him forever for what I've learned. I highly recommend this academy.

Master Hwang is one of the few first generation Hapkido teachers still teaching. He mixes profound insights with crude humour and is not for the faint of heart. He is however, for those who want authentic instruction in the traditional style. He doesn't coddle egos and expects sincerity in training. The training itself is more individualized like a boxing gym; small groups work on specific drills developing feeling and a spectrum of intensity. Master Hwang's method uniquely blends the elements of sparring, ki gong and technique within the context of Asian medicine and philosophy. He easily and seamlessly strings punching, breathing, joint locking and healing together. He not only talks about principles, but can CLEARLY apply them as well. If one patiently approaches training with the willingness to sweat and listen with an open heart, then one's development of awareness and movement will be astounding. He is the Picasso of the martial arts and a key figure in the development of Hapkido.

I wanted to train taekwondo just like I used to, but apparently this place just allows you to train high performance if they invite you to. So what am I supposed to do to get invited? Train among kids within their "recreational program" ?

The instructors are extremely supportive and always want to help you achieve your personal best.

From the moment I walked into Synergy Martial Arts, I was greeted with the utmost of professionalism and respect from the members and staff. I started taking classes recently and everybody I've met so far has been very friendly, welcoming and encouraging.

Honestly the best MMA school that I have been too in Toronto. Good sparring, decent prices, parking, owner has great credentials. Smaller sized classes, good for one on one work. Wrestling, MMA, Muay Thai, Jiu-jitsu, Yoga and conditioning classes. What more can a person ask for?
