Fantastic wine selection! I browsed the shop with a professional sommelier and was very pleased with their selections. The staff is very friendly and helpful!

We attended another wine dinner hosted by Spencer & Lynn’s at The Essex restaurant. Each course and wine pairing was amazing. Both Chef Colt and Wine expert David presented each course throughout the evening- they complemented each other perfectly. We purchased a number of the paired wines from S&L immediately following the dinner. Highly recommend you attend one of their events. Last week, we visited one of the S&L stores (Mystic). Great selection and extremely knowledgeable staff.

Spencer and Lynn is a great shop to have within walking distance. They do an amazing job finding great wines, spirits, and beers, and charge a fair price. We’ve been walking in for years with odd requests (in my case, the Cycling Podcast’s wine recommendations for the Grand Tours), and the stewards in the shop always come through with great recommendations. The most recent visit was great - I’d seen a dude walking out with a hard-to-find but amazeballs beer, so stuck my head in. The Steward hooked me up, and remembered I’d been in during cyclocross season last year for Belgian beers, and said they’d be increasing their stock over the cooler months.

RUDE employee and I am DISGUSTED!! Well to begin, my 16 yo daughter and I stopped in Mystic as tourists on a road trip. As we walked around the town, I decided to stop in and see what wines were locally offered. There was a very original selection. As I went to pay for 2 bottles at the register, the female sales clerk with reddish hair asked for ID for both of us “ladies.” I informed her that my daughter is a minor. She’s not purchasing wine or consuming it. She VERY, VERY rudely refused my purchase and kicked us out like I was some sort of a delinquent. I was speechless. First of all, being from out of state, I would have no idea this is rule in CT. Secondly, I was beyond insulted in HOW she spoke to me. I am a successful adult and her attitude was both largely inappropriate and insulting. I suggest your business screen people at the door if you are that worried about a minor being in store with a parent. ESP since it is such a populated tourist area. Obviously, families are walking around. I will be informing all of my family, friends, and colleagues back home to avoid this shop when or if they ever visit Mystic. No one needs to deal with such ignorance when on vacation!! It’s Just Ridiculous!
