I have been going to New Wave Salon for many years, a gem in the neighbourhood. One of the few hair places that has attracted people from all walks of life as it is very affordable for any cuts. My colleagues and friends always admire the quasi designer-cut I have. I find the staff friendly and are open to suggestions as to how I want it cut. Where else could you find a hair cut under $20 with good designer-cut results.

PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY!! They Don’t know how to follow instructions at ALL. Don’t know how cut hair straight. Came in for a haircut to get my bangs cut, explained what I wanted, SHOWED them pictures and got the WORST haircut of my life! It was UNEVEN and blunt. It’s one thing to have a language barrier, but I made sure to show the PICTURES of what I wanted them to do. When I told the hairdresser this wasn’t what I wanted she started arguing with me. As I was paying she took the machine from me insisted that I tip her. Please do not go here. Don’t waste your money. Don’t waste your time.

Nice cheap place to get hair cut. If you want something simple no problem. Something fancy, might not be the best place. You pay for what you get. The staff are very nice, but some of them don't fluently speak English so may have a little communication issue. Overall, half decent place to get a nice cheap hair cut... sometimes there is a wait.

Worst haircut place ever. Accepts customers of korean descent over any else and treats any other people badly including overcharging and damage to your hair

If I could give 0 stars for the customer service, I could. Before you read my review, please, take your money elsewhere. We've been going there as a family since 2007, and the quality and service has been going downhill, especially ever since some senior staff left. I've been there for cuts, Japanese straight perms ($$), and etc... and they used to be fantastic. Went for a quick haircut today (Sunday) and the (new) employees were ALL rude, condescending and belittled my mom, so we left. The following conversation occurred (translated from Mandarin). A woman who arrived later than us was seated first and had her hair cut first, so my mom asked the older woman, "Why was she seated first?" The old lady got defensive and said, "She'd been here yesterday" which, unless she scheduled an appointment, is no good reason. Old lady got mad, repeated the fact, and her coworkers joined in. I would've stayed had the other lady (Asian, glasses) said to me, "Mommy doesn't understand anything." At that point, I told her that this was no way to talk to my mom and that their attitude towards customers was terrible and we left. I would never rat out a hair salon place I've been faithful to for 10 years, but this was the last straw--my mom was disrespected and embarrassed in front of many customers. As a Chinese person, we get to see more internal stuff go in--the sucking up to the foreign (especially white) customers and random allocation of schedule. For your own sake, take your money and save your hair--go elsewhere. I won't be giving them a cent.

I love Amy Ting! She is amazing I've been going here for the last 2 years and she makes my hair beautiful. I have long hair and sometimes I get it cut with layers or into a v shape. Whatever I ask for she does, for 10 dollars she's a steal of a deal. 💖👍
