Being a parent of a child in pre school..the teaching of appropriate learning material seams good....BUT after hearing about another child touching abusing scratching hitting and tripping my child and having the teacher tell us its normal.after 2 weeks..2 to 3 times a week then to hear about it continuing after 4 and 5 weeks 2 -3 times a week...I say that is not normal and the teacher principal and parents need to have this child stopped...I don't care what they do or say just have this child stop. So I give this school a over all rating of 2 stars and that's with a Christian heart... I would not recommend mis rader and the admin...I don't know about the other teachers...but if admin doesn't respond with one teacher they probably don't respond to other teachers...this isn't the first time out child has been around children...she was in child care for 4 years...yes maybe a situation once a month or every other month..normal.....and minimal situations are normal told to us by other professionals....our child has been instructed not to defend herself and or strike back...so..how long will she be instructed not to defend herself???..thank you

🖓2 thumbs down🖓, this school doesn't now how to deal with bullying, (your child will continue to get hurt) this school does not follow thru on there word promising meaning looking at you in the eye before class even started in the beginning of the year bout how they deal with issues like bullying and they don't follow thru on there own word. My little girl continues day after day to get hurt by another child coming home with marks on her skin and the new Pre-K teacher (Mrs. Rader) doesn't communicate well and says "it's Normal." Kendra Jones the head lady of the school has been silent during this process with no replies back thru email, hush hush type thing and the one time we have talked to her she said "oh there trying to be friends." It's like open your eyes people. Going to church there has put a bitter taste in our families mouth. We decided to go attend somewhere else. OUR other children will not attend there and I'm wrighting this to warn parents so your in the know and have a clue on how you will get treated. Pastor Kelly and Pastor Tom are great but are clueless on how the school is being ran by Kendra and the New teacher Mrs.Rader. You know how they're always that one teacher that u didn't care for I'm sure Mrs.Rader will be the one for my daughter...

This was an excellent school for our child for the Kindergarten year for learning and being attended to in a smaller class size. It was highly recommended by some friends and we were able to enroll after public school had started. We chose Gaarde due to reputation and class size. Our child went to public school where the class size was estimated at 21 but ended up at 32 for the year. We did not want her first impression of school to be like that. At Gaarde the teachers and staff are top-notch and attentive. We felt our child did get a great educational start here. Unfortunately Gaarde still had some issues as anyplace would. Their main issue was a pervasive "clicky" attitude with the students who had had gone there previously or were going to be attending though the entire grade school program. This also extended to the parents who knew the staff and other teachers. I know it's human nature but it should not be at the cost of the children's social interaction. As an example: It was most apparent at school nights, holiday celebrations and during birthdays. The School policy was that invitations had to be given to everyone if they were given at school but often this rule was subverted by the parents who had been going to the school for awhile and had kids in the same classes who were friends. Instead they passed the selected invitations around outside in the parking lot or at a school event. We received invitations in this manner and I was not comfortable with it. Also it is not fair to parents that follow school policy and would have to invite and pay for a party planned for the entire class size. All in all this is great school and still better than the public option if you can afford it. I have two children, so sending them both here financially is not an option. However if my children were going there I would have made a point of insisting they follow their policies out of fairness to other students.

My daughter started in the middle of kindergarden and is now entering the second grade. I was concerned about her transition from another school because we were also going through a divorce at the time. Words cannot express how grateful I am to the staff and her teachers in helping her with the emotional and educational needs those first few months, not only did she adjust, she blossomed and actually won the award for "most respectful kindergarder". Now that she is about the begin second grade I am pleasantly surprised at how articulate and well-rounded her knowledge is. Not only is she definately above grade level but she loves God and is proud to be a christain living with Christ in her heart. PS The after hour care at Gaarde is amazing also and provide loving care when I need it. They help with homework, work on crafts, and never do they use the television as a baby sitter they are hands on in all ways.
