Everyone was very nice

I did not have a good experience here. I have heard great things about Montessori Schools, especially starting out young. When I enrolled my 3 year old son in FMES I was hesitant at the lack of transparency and limited access to him, his classroom, and his teacher - all for the benefit of his learning I was told. (Given the history of the Catholic church and their issues, I would think they would have learned to openly welcome observation and be as transparent as possible.) Initially, he was excited to go. Then hesitant. Then he didn't want to go at all. I found out why when I saw his teacher push him during a fire drill and drag him by the arm outside screaming - she was late getting out of the classroom because she had to rescue her dogs. That was his last day. I did observe the other pre-K classrooms for a possible change for my son but was upset at the attitude of one other teachers toward her students - frowning, annoyed with them... There were two other teachers that seemed nice and the kids seemed happy. After reviewing all of our experiences, I decided this school was not for us. If you are considering this school, insist on observing the classroom, perhaps multiple times, before paying big bucks to have your preschooler in an unhappy place.
