My experience with Mr. Rose was disappointing. He put a new hardwood floor down in my kitchen. Most of the floor looked very good and the planks were staggered nicely. However, there were a couple of problem spots. The nail holes at the sides of the floor looked very bad - I guess if he filled them, the filling came out (see picture). The transition piece between the dining room and kitchen cracked and splintered (see picture). One of the boards close to the transition piece was also cracked right at the edge (see picture). He came back when we asked him to fix these things. When he was looking at the holes, however, he said he would just fill them again. When I said that the filling he'd put in the last time he was there just came out, so maybe he could try something else, like pulling off the baseboard and nailing the boards under there where the holes would be hidden (which he had done for part of the floor, I think) he flipped out. He said something like, "you're crazy lady!" and stormed out of our house with no further discussion. I had been very calm with him, and even if he thought my idea was bad, he should have found a civil way to communicate that. My husband also tried to call him and was very calm with him, but Mr. Rose refused to come back and fix the problems. We ended up hiring a great guy who replaced the splintered boards and filled the holes (with filling that has stayed put) for $250.00. Wouldn't recommend this guy. I'm not sure if my pictures are posting -- sorry -- I've tried a couple of times but if you click on "photos" above you might be able to see all four photos I've tried to post.
