Awesome

Worst Experience I've ever had and I'll be paying for it the rest of my life! My ex had moved my children 9 hours away from me a few years back. When she left, I was paying the grid, but as my wages went up I didn't pay her anything more because she refused to drive anymore than 3 hours to meet me. With all of my travel expenses to see my children, I believed that I was paying more than my fair share. So when my ex sent me a letter from her lawyer demanding more money...I hired Cindy. If I would have settled without hiring a lawyer, it would have cost me about an extra $350 a month. Wait till you find out what it cost me instead! I was afraid that if I fought this that I might end up paying retro support, or court fees for my ex. I had expressed this to Mrs.Martin-Hrycak several times. She reassured me in many phone conversations and emails that under no circumstance would I have to pay her court fees....apparently this only happens when you are not being guided properly by your lawyer. She had also told me that in a worst case scenario that I might be paying around 10-12 thousand dollars in lawyer and court fees. In the end, It cost me about 20 thousand dollars in lawyer fees to Cindy, $9000 retro to my ex, $2500 for my ex's court fees (apparently my lawyer did not give me proper guidance, lol), 66% of daycare expenses, 50$ of extra curricular expenses, and the original $350 extra per month that I would have paid if I would have just settled in the first place. At one point, Cindy had scheduled a court date during the march break (one of the few times that I get to see my kids each year), without letting me know. When she told me the date for court, I told her that I couldn't make this date because I already had a trip planned to florida with my children. Cindy fired me...she quit! I had to beg her to take me back as a client, as I thought this might compromise my case. There were times in court where her facts were wrong, she couldn't find her papers, and she was even mistaking the city that we lived in for another city. Save your money! If you can't find another lawyer....settle, or represent yourself! I will be paying for her mistakes for the next 10 years!
