I have been practicing yoga for a few years, at several locations and with many teachers, nationally and internationally. I have to say that Matt Yausie is one of the most inspired and inspiring teachers I know, with a contagious enthusiasm and passion that comes across in every class. I was lucky to encounter him as a substitute teacher at the University of Regina, and have since been a "regular" in his classes at Yoga Haven, Level Ten, and Hot Yoga Regina. His teaching is clear--with excellent cues--and yet always intuitive, challenging, energizing, and responsive to the students. He models calm focus and builds community in whatever space he is in. He also has a remarkable blend of expertise and humility, and his individual guidance and support has helped me grow considerably. The "Fire and Flow," use of music and/or silence, and other initiatives show limitless creativity. I highly recommend his classes and would choose him as personal trainer if possible!

I am a teacher at Balfour Collegiate. Matt was a guest instructor at Balfour three times and taught grade 11 credit P.E. classes while he was here. Matt was an excellent instructor and worked very well with the teenagers in my class. He has amazing classroom management skills! I was very impressed at how he was able to keep the classes focused and the distractions to a minimum!! Matt is very skilled and talented at what he does and his methods of instruction are a great example for others. I was very happy that my intern teacher was able to see what Matt does. My students and I really enjoyed learning about yoga and participating in these sessions. The students often beg me to book Matt for more sessions. We really appreciate the times when he is able to teach at our school. Thanks for the wonderful experiences!!

I have been practicing for two and half years with Matt at Level 10 and some other studios where he teaches. His energy and encouragement make his classes a highlight of my week. My practice has come a long way with Matt's help and I strongly encourage my friends to give his classes a try for a good workout, but also, a chance to connect to yourself. As a result of his teachings, and my practice, I am better able to handle some of the personal daily stresses in my life more easily. There was a time where I scoffed at yoga but I am a believer in yoga and Matt as a teacher.

I've been practicing Ashtanga yoga for a few years but wanted to try something different to challenge myself. Matt's classes at Level 10 have not only challenged my physical ability in a positive way, but have also added new motivation to my entire practice allowing me to move forward in a mindful and meaningful manner. I've only attended his sessions for a few weeks but admire his enthusiastic approach to teaching. The class is also designed for a variety of levels making it easy to follow and challenge yourself when desired. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, I highly recommend taking a class with Matt to build self-confidence and reconnect your mind, body, and spirit in an energizing yoga class.

I came for the physical benefits and stayed for the sanity! I had taken a beginners community centre yoga class and knew I wanted to improve my flexibility but felt quite clumsy in those efforts. I ended up attending a special class put on for my work colleagues at Level 10 and Matt was teaching it. I instantly connected with his instruction. He made yoga accessible. I have been coming to his Foundation class at Level 10 for about 4 or 5 months now and am grasping (refining?) the basics of the yoga poses (who knew there were so many nuances to a downward dog!). As a beginner, I am always surprised with what I can do and that is due in part to Matt's detailed instructions and in part to his gentle and affirming encouragement. The extra and unexpected benefit is the mind body connection. Stress is shown the door as are judgements. I find myself sleeping better and having the ability to better combat what life throws at me. One day...Fire and Flow... Practise courage!
