Horrible gas station

I am disgusted at how this gas station is run in Boston Bar. Literally squirming to use the washroom I was denied the key until I purchased something. Had to run back to truck to get wallet and buy overpriced gum. The key was given only after transaction went thru. Travelling across the provinces I have never encountered such rudeness at a gas station. I will never stop there again and will do my best to let others know!!! They have denied others I see. When someone is clearly about to pee their pants and you stand there and make them buy something first...you truly suck as a human being and have no business running a gas station. I rate this -100.

Nice little pace they have here. Lots of interesting items to buy. A bit more than just your average gas station. Have stopped in a few times on my way through or back.

I had a horrible experience at the Fas Gas today. I came to heat up my lunch in the microwave that I brought from home, fill up the gas tank and add a small coffee to my coffee in my travel mug that I’d brought from home. I showed the woman at the til how much coffee was left in my mug (about a 1/4 left) and said it was about a small and I only wanted a small coffee, so I could save her the cup and just fill it up (with room for cream). She said it was medium and was going to charge me $2, and I said “No, I only only want to pay for a small ... I think it is a small size refill (cup size) anyhow. She wouldn’t answer me back, even though I had to ask her three times at least if she wanted me to waste a cup and measure it. So, I went ahead and used a cup and there was still coffee left over from the small cup I used that I poured into my travel mug — point taken that I was right, and only needed to pay for a small coffee. I didn’t say anything to her though. I figured that even though I knew I was right, I wasn’t going to point that out to her. However, the problem occurred when I opened and poured the little creamers into the travel mug. The first one had a lump in it that went into my coffee so I scooped it out. Then poured a few more in, but the whole coffee went curdled. I asked them if they had a sink I could pour it out into because their creamer was sour and I didn’t want to pay for a bad coffee (I wasn’t going to drink a curdled, sour coffee from a store, that I had to pay for... a resonable customer request.) The husband and wife owners began to question me a lot about my coffee, how much I had put in, etc. I explained that their creamers curdled the coffee and I wanted a new one. They were arguing with me at this point and the woman at the til said to me, “You’re lying.” At this point I was ready to walk away, I didn’t even want the coffee anymore and I certainly wasn’t going to get gas either. I almost forgot my food in the microwave (they were pizza pops from home). She took my food from the microwave in her hands and gave it to me (I thought that was gross too, because she should not handle other people’s food with her hands, even if it was on a napkin). After I got quite upset as the customer to be accused of lying and taking a larger coffee size than what I had actually taken (the small cup was even on the counter still with the evidence of the coffee in it), I was told I was not welcome there anymore. Despite doing my best to tell them that I was the customer and was right about what I was saying, and they were losing business over about less than the price of a coffee ... that I had given them lots of business since they had come to town and had children who would also be customers there, they rudely said they didn’t care and told me to leave. The owner tried to get into an argument with me about how much he pays in taxes (about $100,000 - $150,00 a year) and rudely asked me beligerently how much I pay in taxes a year. I didn’t answer back; I told them that they don’t come here and treat customers who have been in this town much longer than they have and have been loyal to them (I just filled my tank up there in the last week for about $75) with such disrespect that way. The woman said, “Go!” And, the man kept telling me to stop talking. However, as soon as I tried to explain myself to them about the coffee, they wouldn’t listen. I ended up dropping the other pizza pop on the ground accidently as I was leaving. What a horrible experience! I was just trying to save money and take my lunch from home, fill up the tank and support local businesses (with Fas Gas, you get a cheque in the mail when you request it, once you’ve spent a certain amount, so that seemed like a good incentive) and get some more coffee on my way into Hope today. I will unfortunately never go to this store again, and wouldn’t again anyhow, even if they never told me not to. It was an extremely poor experience of food quality and customer service, probably the worst as a customer, I have ever had.

First time stopping in Boston Bar while on the way back down. PROS - as advertised on the side of the building, seemed to have fresh sandwiches & baked goods; washrooms were decent; small store feel with things a bit cluttered but fun to explore; an entire wall of refrigerated drinks for those hot days. CONS - staff are quiet but helpful when asked. Overall, good place to stop and gives a more interesting feel compared to large chain gas stations.

Extremely rude! I will never go back.
