This is a review of the treatment I received from Dr. Steve Johnson in 1980/81 at Liverpool University(UK), when we were both Dental Undergraduates. It was one of the old amalgam fillings - a mesio-occlusal in the right upper second molar. It lasted until 2015( having never given me any trouble), when it finally needed replacing. Although we were friends, it was the quality of his work, even as a student, that allowed me to put my full trust in him.If I could level any criticism at him, it would be his decision in 1979 to have a curly (hair) perm - a big mistake - although enjoyed immensely by all his dental colleagues.
