In April 2017 Amex was paid a deposit of $1000 to complete some roofing repairs. In June, we were told work would be done in a couple of weeks. By late fall, no work had been started so we cancelled and requested a return of our deposit. After having made several unanswered calls and an email, we initiated a small claims procedure with the B.C. Civil Resolution Tribunal. A judgement has been made against Amex and there is currently an outstanding payment order in effect and due for $1110.50. Amex, previously a reputable long term North Shore roofer closed operations a few years ago. Sean Teather, previous owner of North Shore roofing closed operations and reopened under the Amex name. Note that North Shore Roofing continues to have an active website and telephone number but does not have a business licence for North Vancouver.
