Patient
Gary Herskovits was fined by NY State $5,000 and put on 1 year probation, admitting to erroneous charges billed to a patient and to an insurance company. (http://www.op.nysed.gov/opd/feb97.htm). It seems his corruption continues. It’s happening to me.
I made an appt with an ‘In Network’ periodontist (Soman) who recommended a procedure I’m covered 50% yet charged me $600. After I pay, Soman bring in Amy saying she’ll perform the procedure, never telling me she’s Out Of Network! Since then, after appealing their insurance claims, it was overturned and UHC relayed their findings to them and myself, and awarded money. But only one check can be sent and it must go to provider. Brooklyn Smile cashed the check and refuses to pay! UHC attempted to intervene their calls were again ignored. I sent Brooklyn Smile email stating to pay me monies owed me. They decline, offered me hundreds less, w/h money from me. I demanded they pay me or I will sue. They said ‘OK see u there’. I’m suing!
