Cancelled because someone decided to add a perm to their service

made appointment two days in advance for two of our residents at our long term care center. I adjusted my work schedule to accommodate their appointments and the residents were excited to get out and have their hair cuts in a salon, after 2.5 years. 30 min before our appointments, the hair dresser called and said that the person before us decided to add a perm to their appointment and the perm would take her hours to do and they close at 5pm. I am sure the stylist made the choice to say yes to the perm because of more money. Make more money doing one service instead of having to do two haircuts and make less. WHAT'S THE POINT OF MAKING APPOINTMENTS, IF THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE CLIENT BUT THE $$$$.
