We moved from Victoria to Cranbrook last year. We have now ordered a few batches of the Traminer Riesling from Kootenay Winecrafters. It is fantastic. Everybody who has sampled it has raved about it. It's a full-bodied wine with a smooth finish. It's actually better than the gewurztraminer riesling that I have bought in the liquor stores and/or bottled at a winery in Victoria. The staff are friendly and helpful. Best of all, this shop is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. Obviously, they have other wines, but we are so happy with this (now our 'house wine') that we have not explored others. Creatures of habit, I guess. Just stop looking around and make this winery your first stop. Once we told the owner what we liked, she had a quick recommendation and nailed it. We both feel very comfortable when we order and/or go in to bottle our wine. Good music, good wine, good company.
