My nail tech injured me. Do not come here. I got a manicure done at Varnish Lab in 2019 and had a positive experience, so I wanted to revisit them in 2022 and get my nails done for my birthday. Sadly, they did an awful job. Vicky filed down my nails into an almond shape; while she was filing certain nails, I felt a mild amount of pain, but I trusted her and let her keep going. It was only after I left the salon that I started feeling an intense ache on the side of my right ring finger. She had damaged my finger so far that it was bleeding and constantly twinged for days. A week later, the skin around my nail is dry, hard, flaking, and ugly. It looks worse every day. Additionally, the staff was not clear about the price of the manicure when I spoke with them over the phone before my appointment. They told me a French manicure would cost $15 total. When I received the bill, they charged me $20 for the manicure plus an additional $15 for the French tip design. Also, while I was at the salon, 3 staff members tried to upsell me from a regular manicure to a gel manicure. This place is shady. Do not go to Varnish Lab. The front desk staff was unprofessional and the technician was incompetent. I want a refund.

Quick appointment. In the neighborhood. Really sweet and encouraging staff.

First time returning since change of ownership. Scheduling was easy. Holly and Hana were teamed up for a regular mani and pedi. Disappointing outcome. They emphasized the time given to massaging, which I could care less about. Just do a decent job. Stay clear of these two. Pedi: Corners were over cut and rounded so much, when I specifically told her that I wanted a squared look with no sharp corners. Mani: over filed sides and very sharp edges. Once home I had to try to repair. Not worth the $105.00.

Tina and Jessie just have me the most incredible manicure and pedicure! So quick too, more than enough time to get this done on my lunch break. I am so stoked on the colors, massage, and work that these amazing women did. Check it out!

Well, I’ve been coming here for about 3 months. Hit or miss service, but I’m officially never coming back. I got a regular dip mani on a Wednesday. As the technician finished, he told me to “be careful with them” because he knew the application was too thin. You should never tell a client leaving your salon to “be careful.” Why not do it correctly the first time? Lo and behold, one of them broke as soon as I got home. So I go back on Thursday to get it fixed. By Saturday (doing normal/light activities) four more of my nails had broken in the same place - right where he added the tips - because the dipping powder application was too thin to begin with. Not to mention these all broke my actual nails down the middle, which was incredibly painful. So I go back AGAIN, to get the four other nails fixed on Monday. Even the guy at the front desk said “oh wow” when he saw them. I request a new set because obviously the others are also going to eventually break. They fix them (much better) but then same guy at the front tries to charge full price, which I object. He “compromises” and says that because all of my nails didn’t break (again, 5 broken nails in 4 days) they can only give me half off. As if the others weren’t also on their way of breaking! What a rip off and most importantly a waste of my time. I do not recommend going here.
