I was pleasantly greeted and assisted during my first, and certainly not last, visit. I found everything I needed at an affordable price. Thank you for making Valentine's day with my partner memorable.

The staff there are consistently rude and yesterday one was borderline violent. A cashier at one time said to me when I pulled out my card to pay "You know the drill". However, yesterday I walked into the rum section. Due to the liquor strike there wasn't much there so I was rethinking my purchase. Within seconds a clerk got aggressively right in my space. With a raised voice demanded to know what I was doing. I just looked at him, stunned at his behaviour. "Are you looking at the Appleton's" he shouted at me among other things. I'm recently retired and I was well dressed and polite. I was not carrying a bag or backpack. Which may have given cause for shoplifting suspicion. This guy just wanted to verbally push me around in the worst way. I immediately picked out a bottle of Bacardi rum. He followed me to the check-out and stood there watching me as I waited in line. I felt like the young man was going to attack me at any second. That was it for me, I'll never go back there again. My God, I'm still shaken up about the whole thing.

Nice cozy modern government liquor store at this James Bay location. I always prefer the BCL shops over private liquor stores for service and pricing!
