Lots of selections at this LCBO. They seem to not have a lot of staff at the checkout but the service is still super fast. The gentleman at the counter cleared ten people in 6 minutes or less. Amazing! As expected from LCBO a wide variety. Tip : If you're looking for something to go with seafood, the selection to the left the minute you get through the door, first aisle is filled with great selections.

review date: april 23, 2021 photo add-ons: november 13, 2021 2nd review: november 13, 2021 customer since: ongoing since 2008 the upper james@ fennell location is a modern-spaced adult beverage store that has a cold room for beers and some liquored coolers. i like this location the best (compared to anywhere else) because they almost always have what i am looking for. nobody can be 100% especially when the vodka cooler shelves get raided by customers after a hot summer's weekend lol 😉 stockouts don't happen very much, imo when they do, they are backfilled here pretty good, given that this store moves a lot of product out the door. the store is always clean, tidy and easy to navigate. hours here are standard as they are with other hamilton lcbo locations. also, there is a nearby beer store in the event you want to hand in your empty bottles and cans. staff here at the lcbo upper james location are consistently polite, probably the best imo out of center mall, dundurn, jackson square and the traffic circle, and would stack up well against anywhere else. the upper james store is close to where i live so i use this location the most. honorable mention to a worker named oliver, and another named lyle for their consistent, friendly, outgoing conduct displayed over my many visits. i understand that it is not easy, and takes a really long time to get perm f/t status, however these fine folks (mentioned or not) @ upper james/fennell deserve the opportunity to achieve such if they haven't already, and if they wanted to pursue it. imo attracting and retaining great workers is not easy to do. when you have great people that take pride, display hard work and exemplary customer service over and over, they deserve to be taken care of.👍 2nd review: november 13, 2021: this location continues to do the same wonderful things mentioned in the 1st review. shout to store workers ian, sunni and dylan for their past help and pleasant service on several occasions. stockouts continue to be few and far between. their fridge section is quite expansive compared to other locations and items picked from said section are essentially ready to consume once at home. bottom line: lcbo upper james is a fantastic adult beverage store of choice. i will continue supporting this store and recommend it to others if they are in the area! 💙

At the check out the cashier (Sunny) asked me if I found everything I was looking for and I said the store did not have a certain wine I liked; he asked if he could recommend something similar and I agreed. Sunny proceeded to recommend some wines and upon my asking he explained the sugar content of the various wines I shop at this LCBO on Upper James quite often and this was the first time I had an unexpected positive experience.

Small location, but has almost anything you can think of. Plenty of parking which is an added bonus!
