Humboldt is lucky to have two people as kind and locally supportive as Amy and Steve are at Alchemy Distillery. They source locally and their spirits are exceptional. I have a bottle of their barrel strength bourbon, Cereal Killer, and now a bottle of their barrel Manhattan (which is fantastic). Keep an eye out for their tasting room and food location, opening in 2023. This will be sure to be a great hang out spot. They have beautiful rolling windows/doors so on the nice days the gorgeous weather and sunlight can make it in. The Arcata Marsh is nearby with plenty of walking trails also, which can make for a great trip! A little spirit and a little nature!

Amy and Steve have created such a great space and are so welcoming! The whiskey is fantastic. I'm not a gin girl, but I did try a sample of it and thought it was a darned good gin. The tour is so informative, and I love how they try to source as many local ingredients as possible. Another wonderful thing about Alchemy Distillery is their support of and collaboration with other local businesses plus their support of the local artistic community. They are a delight, and their whiskey is wonderful. Go spend some time with them and the regular customers on the 2nd Friday and last Saturday of the month.

What a wonderful local business! It's a small place and has only been in operation a couple of years but they are creating very tasty whiskey and gin. If you get a chance to visit The Distillery during one of the open houses, I strongly recommend it! The owners are very enthusiastic about the distilling process and it shows in every aspect of their business model and operations.

So much love and care goes into everything here. Every step of the process has been well thought out with locally sourced ingredients and best quality in mind. We were lucky to catch them during an open house (found out through Lost Coast Outpost), explored the distillery, enjoyed a specialty beverage and had a tour. Owners Steve and Amy are lovely people, knowledgable and incredibly passionate, this is a place to experience whether you're local or visiting. Love all the local goodies available in the shop, especially hand made glass drinking straws and add-your-own-botanicals gin kits. Really great stuff!

Craft distillery ran by fantastic community minded duo Amy & Steve Bohner. Their award winning spirits are made with 100% California grown grains in a gorgeous American made copper still. Mark your calender for the next open house and taste one of Amy's delicious specialty cocktails while taking a tour by Steve! Have fun following along their distilling journey on Instagram.
