This is my favorite liquor store in the area. Good prices, great employees.

I'm happy that they keep my beer brand stocked but the price of it seems to fluctuate depending on who is working. That is a little irritating. When I 1st started shopping there a couple of months my beer cost $2.50, now the same drink is $3.00 and rising.

I was hoping more from this store. I work at a well known liquor store in Boyle Heights called Ramirez Beverage Center, located off of Olympic & Soto. We sell a variety of Tequila, Whiskeys, Mezcales, Craft Beer ETC. I came in here because I saw a lot of well known / rare (at this time) to find bottles..... Specifically I saw a Dragon Shaped bottle on their shelf that I was HIGHLY INTERESTED IN.... But unfortunately was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED when I asked "What type of Alcohol & what the price on the bottle is" .... Cashier told me it was A BLANCO TEQUILA when clearly it was either an Anejo or a Brandy..... Still couldn't give me the price....I asked about their prices on Weller and they had NO CLUE. Both guys had no idea on the bottle prices...... 9/10 do not recommend.

"Ruska Liquor" (name shown on marquee for years): Our friendly neighborhood Liquor Mart (and grocery). Recently under new ownership. The previous (mostly cantankerous) owner decided to retire and sold it to two young, ambitious guys who are whipping it up to be a bright spot in the neighborhood. Along with nice looking renovations, they're making friends and respecting the (mainly Central American) neighborhood culture, even speaking Spanish, while also introducing us to some very cool Desi (Bollywood) beats. Best of all, while they kept all of the desirable staple products (Latino snacks / liquor & beer + tobacco products), they are slowly introducing a higher quality and diverse range of produce, which I believe is very important and socially conscious given the state of the junk food dietary options the neighborhood markets usually put out, will hopefully contribute to a healthier community that's been statistically struggling with dietary caused illness. I've also witnessed them keep a cool head while facing some "late night challenges." (when the liquor starts to kick in) Keep it up fellas!
