Fantastic cocktails. The Lockwood was amazing, think old fashioned with a hint of coffee. The scorched sands was also good. I did have a flight which was definitely high quality and very interesting but unfortunately the flavor profile doesn’t match mine. That said I would definitely return to have cocktails and try the food which looked pretty good next time I’m in San Antonio.

I can't say enough good things about Maverick Whiskey, and I'll try to articulate my thoughts. The food is unique and DELICIOUS! From pickled corn, to whiskey ice cream, everything is PERFECTION! The staff is friendly and courteous. Namely Chef Joshua Albert. He explained that all of their food is locally sourced within 100 miles and he created the captivating menu himself. The drinks.... I mean.... the ice cube in the Old Fashioned has their logo on it! I am so impressed with the attention to detail! Of course, it was a perfectly flavored Old Fashioned. I highly recommend Maverick Whiskey and will be back!

Rating is more for our personal taste in whiskey/bourbon. This one is not for us. The flight was ok…it came quickly but looked spilled into and had a sticky note with the items. The fries were good. Tried a smoked old fashioned and it was almost too smoked. The service was good overall and the seating area upstairs was ok…our table wobbled so kept having to stabilize it.

The prices are high but we’ll worth the visit. The high level of quality of ingredients can easily be seen and tasted. Charcuterie was a delightful surprise. While the presentation was artistic the flavor of the items were surprisingly delicious. The Wild southwest Elk was well prepared. The flight of Whiskeys added to the ambiance of the second floor dining area. The view over the distilling area was neat. The curved bar area has dark wood with a good selection of spirits. The Maverick M logo on the ice cube is a nice touch. The service was great and this hidden gem is worth the visit.

All I can say is wow! Completely unexpected. With a small menu, in a distillery……I wasn’t expecting this. I ordered the double bone-in pork chop on a bed of spiced stewed apples, and it was literally the best pork chop I’ve ever had! I’m not a whiskey drinker, but their beer is great! I would certainly come back where again for dinner and the Märzen.
