Glad this store carried everything I needed but I wasn’t very happy with the customer experience. When ready for checkout I went to the register and asked for an item that I couldn’t locate. At first the woman told me they didn’t have it, and then she said they had it in lock up. I told her I’ll be right back to go get it. She didn’t call a person to lock up to retrieve it for me so I ended up waiting in line again to ask her to open it. She called someone to open it and I got it. So I went to the back of the line and the person that opened lock up to retrieve the items seen a line and got on the register to help. He helped the customer that just came behind me and decided that was the only customer he was going to help as I stood there still waiting to check out. Another lady seen it and seen him walking away and got the man’s attention and told him to come back and help. That’s when he came back. I honestly perceived it to be something I don’t want to mention, but it was very transparent to be a negative customer experience and made me uncomfortable to say the least. Will not be returning to this location.

I go there all the time and they have a fine inventory... But the staff make it awesome. Shout out to Alfred for doing a great job of plain talk about wine selection.... You rock

I couldn't locate a particular item and upon inquiry, the cashier went to a computer to assist me. She then requested help from a co-worker that was more familiar with the floor stock. Unfortunately, I didn't get their names, but next time I will. Thanks again for going the extra mile!!

Spec’s is the best- known liquor store chain in the Houston area and it is the one at which I visit with the greatest frequency. Some of the stores are slightly better than others and one of my favorites is this location at 24417 Katy Freeway. What sets this Specs apart? There are many factors and one of them is the size and selection. Some Specs are larger than others and this is, indeed, one of the larger ones in the Houston area. They have a large variety of wine, beer, liquor, and other non- boozy drinks as well as snack foods and supplies. There are always new beers arriving and I like that I can find new beer to try on each visit. Another reason I like this Specs more than others is that, while it is large in size, you can see all of the aisles and that is because the shelves are low. This might seem like an unusual thing to list as a pro, but I like it because, no matter where I am standing, I can scan the rest of the store, see where I need to go, and start walking in that direction. Samples are a regular part of the fun at Specs and it is common to get small samples of liquor here, plus the occasional wine or beer sample, too. The checkout lines move quickly, and the store is clean. Add everything up and you have a Specs location that ranks among the very best in the chain.
