I just moved back to Clinton this summer, my wife’s hometown, to attend MC Law, and I love the town. I’ve been going to Arrow Spirits each Friday after I get out of school to buy a bottle of FR Small Batch. Always friendly with the staff, never had an issue. I went earlier this week to see if they could order in Eagle Rare 10 and was told they have allocated bottles and to come back during the day because the manager has the key and she could get it for me. No problem. I went in today and had one of the most awkward customer service experiences I’ve ever had. What followed was a whole conversation where I was supposed to plead my case concerning if I came to the store enough to deserve a bottle or was loyal enough of a customer. First of all, trying to convince someone that you go to a liquor store enough feels pretty weird. Usually I’m trying to convince my wife I don’t go too much! Clearly, I frequented the store, knew enough about bourbon to understand the allocation process and I was cordial with the woman. After the awkward experience and letting me know I basically “wasn’t from around here” she did begrudgingly offer the sale, but by that time I knew my business wasn’t wanted or appreciated and went elsewhere. If you had sold it and let the customer know it’s only for regular customers, you would have made the customer feel appreciated and loyal. How many people trek in from some far off place to raid you Eagle Rare? Or better yet, just say no. Who needs a Friday afternoon liquor interrogation.

I have never been inside this liquor store before, but ran in for a bottle of wine Christmas Eve afternoon. Within two minutes I was out of there!! I asked the two (too busy talking about their person lives) female clerks if they had a certain brand of wine I like. I was answered very rudely "No we dont" then she looked me up and down, you know that look, then turned her back to me and continued on with her personal talk with her co-worker totally ignoring other customers as well, this was all done while they were standing behind the register. Frownin faces and rude behavior is not a good look for a business. Silly me thinking owning a business is about quality customer service which leads to profit.

Friendly people that are always willing to help. I ask for something and if they don't have it they usually order it for me if they can.

Great selection, fair prices. One of the best in town.
