Classic bait and switch pricing. On Wine Searcher the item I was seeking was priced between $39 and $55 across 12 stores in the New York metro area. Online this bottle's price at S&A was $41. When I called to confirm availability they said it was in stock. When I asked if I could have a few set aside for pickup, the storekeeper said he had to "look up the price," and after a couple minutes said "we can do it for $59 per bottle." I am reporting this store to Wine Searcher and would urge anyone looking up their offerings online to beware of their shady practices. Response to store owner’s response: “Barrel Proof” was clearly noted on your website listing and you have since changed the listing after our call and my review. The 100 Proof Rye is $23-30 at two dozen stores across the metro area. You did not make a mistake, you simply raised the price.

My wife and I stopped at this store, last Friday, to pick up a bottle to celebrate with family, at dinner. We bought 2 bottles of Nicolas Feuillatte brut champagne, and a 2017 Faust Napa Cab. It was the last one on the shelf, and was sitting vertically. We opened the Faust that night, in great anticipation, only to find it vinegary. I have bought and consumed many Fausts. It is a terrific product and I enjoy it very much. This one is on the merchant. Probably/Most definitely…the method of display. My call? Not to buy any wine from this store. Be warned. Sorry to report

If you're looking for a wide selection of wine and spirits, come and ask the shopkeeper for their expertise. I enjoyed my experience but this shop isn't for everyone- it's a liquor store after all.

Overpriced and rude Response to owner: You keep offering refunds to customers on here but how about you price your bottles fairly? It is not our option that you are are overpriced it is fact. Prices are very transparent online and your prices are 30-100% higher than those and those include shipping. If you weren’t such an arrogant swindler I wouldn’t hav had to beat you down like this. Hope you change your attitude and then maybe your prices would follow.

If you’re looking for a liquor store that you can’t walk into or browse bottles in, then this is the spot. Couple of nice people work there, couple of rude people work there. Try your luck. My best experience was when a guy cut us all in line then rolled his eyes at me when I told him where the line was. Turned out he worked there. What a peach.
