Avoid Stephanie at checkout, if at all possible!
After I mistakenly forgot to bring my ID in with me, she insisted that I hold the line up in order to replace items into the cart myself, even though both my cart and my items were already right next to her. I was forced to move the whole line behind me backwards, pull my cart back, then reach my arm around the plastic protective barrier, collecting each item one at a time and replacing them (I am assuming Stephanie thought I was under 21, which would have been flattering, if this hadn’t clearly been an attempt at some strange form of humiliation).
The experience was surreal, and definitely left a sour taste in my mouth as I walked out to get my ID accompanied by the sound of Stephanie laughing with the next customer about my foolishness.
I am actually still confused because I’ve been shopping at Total Wine for over a year and have never had any issues otherwise. In fact, the friendly staff, cleanliness, and wide selection are actually the main reasons I have recommended this place to friends and family in the past.
