In Montgomery County, MD, the county manages most of the liquor stores. This is conveniently close to me. Bought a very nice botanical gin and a bottle of Aperol. Selection of liquor and wines is somewhat limited. Staff is disinterested and aloof. Chain liquor stores outside Montgomery County (such as Total Wine in Laurel, MD) have a much more welcoming atmosphere, many attentive and knowleagble staff and a wider selection of wine and spirits.

I love the customer service. The staff is friendly, courteous, and eager to serve. The selections are plentiful and always well stocked. There's even tastings occasionally.

Not having grown up with government operated liquor stores I always expected it to be very procedural and overpriced, not the case here though. Friendly staff, good selection, very clean and prices are actually much better than privately operated stores in neighboring counties. They keep government hours though, so don't expect to send a runner to keep the party going late in the evening.

This store is very clean and well laid out. Which makes it easy to find what you're looking for by reading the big signs everywhere. The staff is pretty friendly and will assist you if ever you need assistance. The prices are pretty reasonable and well labeled. If you've ever been to Linganore Winery in Mount Airy, MD. You'll be happy to know that this store carries some of their wines so you don't have to make the trip out there. I will be back soon enough for a wine run.
