Visited for the first time today. As I was looking at wines, a white-haired member of their staff asked me to give him my empty grocery bag, which he wanted to keep behind their counter while I was shopping… just as if I was going to steal from their store! That just made me want to leave right away, which I did. As I was leaving, he tried to engage conversation like nothing had happened. As I gave him the silent treatment, he even had the nerve to give me an ironic goodbye. Such a shame and pathetic manner to treat clients. Pathetically short-sided business acumen as well, as I love wine and thought they were the best option in the area. It just happens they are not. I went this pm to Tamura’s, just a few blocks away, they have a better selection, better prices and last but definitely not least: they are the sweetest! Bottom line: thank you for treating me so poorly, you showed me the way! :)

Exceptional wine selection and customer service -- prices are good too! My wife and I lived in Italy for 6 years and many of our favorite wines from there (and France) are available for purchase. We definitely didn't expect to find those in Hawaii. The store looks small from the outside, but don't let that deceive you because it's quite large inside.

It's a great place to buy a variety of American wines for less than $100.

The best choices of wines, champagne and spirits. They also have caviar, cigars, cheese and prosciutto. They also have smoked ahi . They have a cigar advent calendar too! No more caviar...

Great selection. Island commensurate prices. However, terrible customer service. I have been a repeat customer here while on island over the years and their selection has always drawn me in. Their staff are typically nice but not very knowledgeable about their stock when pressed. Normally I could let the ignorance go as long as they have a good attitude and I end up with wines I enjoy. Where it all went wrong was when they sold me a bottle with a bad cork. It completely disintegrated while attempting to open it. On my way back from Kailua I decided to drop in and tell them what happened. I had the receipt and wanted a replacement. They suggested I take the opened, corked bottle from my hotel room and transport it to the store so they can "see it." The financial outlay for them would be the same whether I had the bottle with me or not. The time/energy/frustration outlay on my behalf after I already paid full value on a poorly maintained bottle pays the forfeit to only get back to where I already was...not ahead. They lost a customer for life over a $20 dollar cost to them. Pathetically short-sided business acumen.
