Awesome tour! Small little distillery that you really get to see every step of the process and actually try their whole range. The aged moonshine and rum are uniquely fantastic! Del is a VERY informative and hilarious guide! Ask him about the barrel horse hahahah Highly recommend filling that prescription at the bar next door, the selection is not stuff you see every day.

Barrel House Distillery is a small craft distillery, but don’t let that discourage you from visiting! They have a great intimate tour that allows you to really interact with them. We even got to talk to the distiller! You won’t get that opportunity with the big boys! They have a great bar with really good food too, so come hungry!

While this place is small it packs a punch as an example of hands on fortitude. I found that seeing an example of a distiller that seems just one step out of the hills gives a perspective that can't be found going to just the mid sized and large sized distilleries. From their fermentation tubs to hand bottling and flame heated still pot, I couldn't stop smiling. Our guide was awesome as well and we got to meet the young master distiller and his apprentice as they change the five gallon bucket containing the beginnings of their product. I want to say THANK YOU to the whole team!

Barrel House Distilling Company is a small micro-distillery who produces about 50 barrels per year. We toured on a Sunday afternoon so it was not overly crowded. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain the distilling process and the history of Barrel House. After touring other distilleries it was interesting to see how distilling bourbon is done on a smaller scale. The tour does not take a long time but is very interesting and includes a leisurely tasting afterwards of no less than six of their products. I was very happy with my experience and can recommend visiting - especially to compare to how some of the other larger distilleries operate.
