WOW! Zeek can hook up a calzone the best you've ever had! And if it's not on the menu when you create your own he puts the best touch on it! It's not just him, or Al but all the employees there that make it one of the best family oriented places to go! Around the corner or out of the way Maria's is the best place for convenience store needs!

People may think of this place as a Liquor Store first and foremost but seriously, don't skip out on the deli and pizza options they've got on hand. The selection of alcohol is awesome and they've served me fantastically for YEARS, they'll even order products to stock for you if you ask. Now that I'm sticking to non-alcoholic beers they've got a small but pretty good variety as well, so they're still taking care of me just fine. The pizza and calzones are BOMB and the costs are AWESOME compared to most chains. If you want something to take with you for baking later, get the one-size no-bake pizza! It's generally costs far less than an already-made pizza and you can take it home to throw in the oven yourself. I did it all the time for gatherings with friends and got loads of compliments.

I haven't necessarily had a negative experience while at Maria's however, they never seem to carry higher end spirits and wine, particularly champagne. The staff normally doesn't have enough liquor knowledge to recommend anything, and half of the time don't know where the liquor that they do carry is on their shelves. My boyfriend likes the pizza at Maria's, which is the only time we even consider coming in now. I agree with other reviews that the location and atmosphere of Maria's is not great, but that's not always the business' fault. Overall, unless there's something specific that you know Maria's carries and you enjoy (like the hot food, which I hear is excellent!), I'd recommend going to Round Haus on Bridge. If you're looking for higher end, niche, or rarer wine and spirits, go to Total Wine & More in Ann Arbor.
