Took the paid tour and tasting. Jake, master distiller, gave an excellent tour of the distillery and barrel room. He is well-versed in the art and craft of brewing rum. Sampled 8 varieties of rum, all are available for purchase on site or at various locations throughout the Carolinas. Our favorite is the coffee rum made from cold-brew Javesca coffee. Owner, Caroline, is so friendly and willing to share the history of Muddy River Distillery. They are excited to be expanding and relocating to a historic warehouse in Mount Holly (distillery, barrel room, bar and restaurant). Learned about the various distillers events and community partnerships (NC State, Javesca Coffee Roasters, local fundraisersfor charity). Participating member of the North Carolina Craft Distillers Trail.

Great rum from a local North Carolina rum distiller!!! Great tour on Saturdays at 1, 2, or 3. Best part is if you keep the shot glass you can keep coming back for free! The coffee rum, pictured, is the BEST and their newest rum!! IT’S SO DELICIOUS!!!!!! Come visit, do the tour, and BUY SOME RUM!

Great brewery tour! Muddy River runs were some of the first ones I discovered after moving to NC 2 years ago, and they're still some of my favorites. I HIGHLY recommend the basil and coconut rums!!

We went on the tour today and had a good time. Had the opportunity to taste all their varieties. Very good experience and enjoyable ambiance. The shot glass as souvenir is a nice touch and we are looking forward to coming back again with some friends. Our favorite rum bottle is basil. Who would think about that???!!

Awesome time at Muddy River Distillery. Jake did a great job explaining everything on the tour. Exceptionally delicious rum.
