10/10 recommend. Amazing customer service! I was searching online for a rare beer for a gift, and as luck would have it, Total Wine & More in Cary had it in stock. I was going to order curbside pickup, but I figured with my limited time, I should just go straight there. I called in advance to see if they truly had it in stock, and the gentleman, Nick, actually checked for me. I greatly appreciated that, as i am sure they were very busy. The drive was an hour for me, and I didn’t want to chance it. Thankfully, Nick confirmed. Once I arrived, around 12:30 on a Sunday, the same Nick greeted me at the door, asked what I was looking for, walked me straight to it, and loaded my cart. Best customer service I have had from any total wine!!! Aaron was very polite, Nick went above and beyond, Chris was a great cashier. Better variety than morrisville location and more accuracy.

There was wine tasting for Shoe Crazy, an African-American woman's company. I chose Sweet Bella whichbis a sweet red wine with chocolate and strawberry notes. We loved it!

Nico the manager went out of his way and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He was very patient and professional. I also observed him treating the staff in a professional and respectful manner. This made for a great shopping experience.

I had never been to a Total Wine store in the past but I was excited to go in and explore the variety they had. I was very pleased when we first arrived as we were greeted and asked if there was anything we were looking for or needed help with. I felt very welcomed in the store until I was going to check out. I was purchasing a bottle of wine and my partner was with me. The associate working the register very abruptly said “I need to see both of your ID’s” my partner did not have his on hand as he was not the one purchasing the wine but we understand THIS store policy and it is clearly stated on the company’s website. My partner went to our vehicle, grabbed his ID and returned inside the store and showed the associate. Keep in mind there is now a line forming behind us and I am standing there while this is all happening, waiting to finish my transaction. Once the register associate sees our ID’s I thought we were good to pay and leave. He then calls the manager over to the register. I asked if something was wrong and he said “It is store policy that if you are between 21 and 22 a manager has to see your ID”. Now this is a store policy I do not agree with NOR IS IT STATED ON THR COMPANIES WEBSITE. In North Carolina you are legally able to purchase alcohol at the age of 21. So why, just because I am a younger customer am I subject to stricter security? Are your register associates not able to properly read an ID? Do you not trust someone who doesn’t have wrinkles and bags under their eyes to be in your store? At this point I felt targeted and disrespected as a consumer. You would think that being surrounded by a large community of wine and beer lovers that they would want someone that is new to the scene to feel welcomed and want to explore. And yet I now feel like I am never going to go into another Total Wine again. I would like management to think about this, you just lost a customer who just gained the access to legally enjoy alcohol and your business will never receive money from them for the rest of their life. I would like this company to realize that there is an entire generation of people turning 21 that wont be dealing with this disrespect.
