I love the staff here! They are friendly, funny and knowledgeable! I love having it close to the Freddies so I can do all my shopping within close range.

Good selection in the store. Grabbed a store pick bourbon that has been really good. Highly recommended a visit.

An amazing selection with a personnel that exemplifies good customer service. Don't let the vandalism deter you from checking out this amazing liquor store. It's just amazing Urban camouflage for what makes Portland still a great city to live in despite what's going on and other areas. They need our business and I'm going to continue to give them what pennies I can to keep them afloat. Cuz at the very least walking into a liquor store where the employees don't treat you like garbage is worth investing in. Quote hard roads lead to amazing stories. That's what these employees share between making amazing selections for liquor.

This place literally has one of the best selections of mixtures around. Not to mention you can find whatever it is you need to drink whether it's high-class whiskey or fireball. the guys working at the counter were pretty friendly and pointed us in the right direction for what we needed. As soon as you walked in the door they were ready to help us and find exactly what we needed for a good vacation in Portland.

I live in Sherwood, almost THIRTY MILES away from Hawthorne Liquor. If I attempt the drive during certain hours of the day, it can take me over an hour to get up there--and on the way up to this amazing store, I pass dozens of other liquor-purchasing locations. DOZENS. So why, with gas prices the way they are, would I travel allllll the way to SE Portland to buy liquid courage? One reason: the wonderful humans who work at Hawthorne Liquor genuinely care about the happiness of their customers. I have never seen a team of employees go so above and beyond like these delightful people do. Kyle has curated the most impeccable, diverse selection of bourbons and whiskeys and can speak to ALL of them; Koyote is hilariously funny and friendly with flawless product suggestions; Savannah gives impeccable, detailed, personalized flavor profile advice (and is as smart and funny as she is drop-dead GORGEOUS, my goodness!); and Milo is a wealth of knowledge about logistics, specific product searches, shipments, and the OLCC (the latter of which was very helpful for me, coming from a state that doesn't have liquor laws like we do in Oregon). Absolutely worth the drive, especially if you're looking for knowledge on something you don't normally drink. I can count how many times I've been in the store on one hand, and they're always busy--but I'm greeted like a family friend every time I walk in the door. This staff ROCKS!
