Steve's is one of my all time places to come to get alcohol! I truly believe that this store is a Madison staple. They have a vast selection of wines, and they also have a healthy selection of champagne/bubbly wine. I adore the fact they have a whole wall dedicated to tequila, which is my preferred hard alcohol. Steve's also has Sake! It's so hard to find sake at liquor stores. The people working here are amazing and nice!

Whenever we have wanted a special wine, we have gone to Steve's for MANY years. The 3 star rating is because when we were there a few days ago and asked the owner for a certain recommendation, he acted like we were bothering him for the entire transaction. We'll be going elsewhere in the future.

Recommended! This is a great liquor store with an excellent collection. One of the reasons I like going here is because they have nice little placards that tell you about the wines. They're informative, and the owners tend to highlight wines that are good buys or interesting finds.

They were playing bad elevator music, making the atmosphere feel like a hotel lobby. Otherwise, the store was well organized, and the clerks were friendly.

For beer drinkers: Not the largest but still a very good selection, can always find a new local interesting beer. Prices on average are $2 LESS per six pack than nearby whole foods or Metcalfe's. I don't drink wine or hard liquor, so can't really comment on that.
