We finally saw the benefit of going Solar on our house. After considerable research, I narrowed it down to 2 solar companies including Trismart Solar. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and informative. The process to get the project financed was smooth and efficient. I selected Trismart based on the salesperson and his professionalism. However, after signing the contract and the project got turned over to the installation team, that is when it stopped going well.
From the day the project was turned over to the project team communication was very poor. I had to be the one to chase them down to get answers. The process for HOA approval was delayed since Trismart didn’t provide the right information. Several back-and-forths were driven by me, even though Trismart was supposed to have handled it.
The first installation team was a nightmare. They were supposed to be done in 3 days however that turned into a week. The quality of the job was terrible, and the installers sat around. After complaining to Trismart they replaced the contractor (which wasn’t supposed to be used) with their own install team. Although they were far better and cleaned up the poor installation and electrical mistakes made by the first crew, they left parts and a lot of trash. Trismart agreed to send a quality check technician out and he found more issues and corrected the electrical issues. None of the teams could get the Enphase device connected to my Wi-Fi. The operations Director did apologize and did provide an acceptable solution.
When notified by CenterPoint that it was “clear to operate”, I called, and rather than send out an electrician as promised they just said, “throw the switch”.
I tried to contact the operations director again with the issues, but he said I had to go to customer service.
Contacting Customer Service is very difficult. The best option is to send an email. After listing out my multiple issues including the WiFi, and roofing tiles coming off, they called and said they would send a tech. The technician showed up and walked around and left without any feedback. I kept expecting some report, but it never came. I contacted customer service again. When they called back, they said they saw the roof damage and tried to make excuses. The fact is that my roof is only 5 years old and had no issues until their 3 different crews were climbing, walking, and sliding on the roof. They said they turned it over to their damage department. Again, NO communication. To this date, no one has contacted me about the roof damage.
On the Enphase Issue, they did have a qualified tech get it online correctly. He also told me that my solar system would NOT produce electricity during a power failure because they didn’t install the controller. This is 100% contrary to what I was told and expected when contracted. I emailed customer service again and the agent outright contradicted the expert. So, I spoke to a manager. The manager called and stated that the controller from Enphase was not released and was not available. He promised to call and check on the date of availability. He also said he would get their “vendor” for roofing out to do an assessment. He also said that if I wanted power during a power failure, I had to install batteries or a generator. Batteries for my house would be close to $50,000. So, I asked about the generator. He promised to call me back no later than Wednesday the 30th. Here it is Friday and no call. I then found out that he was not accurate either. I spoke to 2 other companies (while looking to price the generator) and found out the controller for the Enphase Daylight Backup is readily available and could be installed within the month. As it turns out the expert was right. However, still no response from customer service or follow-up by anyone at Trismart. My issues, other than the WiFi are still ongoing.
I am very glad we went to solar. My electrical bill went from over $300 to $78 the first month including Centerpoint’s transmission charge. However, I do NOT recommend Trismart.
