I bought a 600ah lithium battery system from Starlight Solar Power Systems about five months ago and just got around to installing it. Larry was always extremely helpful with all of my technical questions on the phone. While I was in Yuma, I called with another question and Larry invited me to the shop on his day off to help me resolve a warranty issue on the CPU as well as helping me program the controllers and reviewing the system I had installed. Seems like they really care about their customers and they made me feel important. They cared about the outcome of my project even though they didn't install it. I highly recommend them, they do top-notch work and most importantly they stand by what they sell. Also want to add that after shopping around, I found their prices to be very reasonable.

We had our solar installed about six years ago and it's still going strong. I highly recommend Starlight Solar and will absolutely be back If we get a new rig. Thank you for a fantastic experience. Julie Berry

Ultimately I am entirely disappointed with the thousands of dollars invested in my custom battery bank built by Larry. Components have failed, and I have not found repair help in MONTEREY county. The large slowly dying battery bank has killed one alternator in my van and will require additional time and money to make useful.

I first learned about Starlight Solar while at the Quartzite rally in 2014. I contacted them and spoke to Debbie Crutcher who owns Starlight along with her husband Larry. I spoke with them a number of times and finally made an appointment for the installation of a system in mid-March. We own a 2012 40' all electric Allegro Bus. We like to dry camp and wanted to run our gen set less and better utilize the sun's power. When I arrived at their location I was in for a wonderful experience. I worked with Larry and Jim (Jim and Renda his wife do all the installs and have done so for the past 8 years). They came up with a plan to move the one factory installed panel to the passenger side of our Coach and then install a set of rails that run on the driver's side of our Coach from the front all the way to the rear of the Coach. This allowed for the installation of six 235 watt Panasonic panels in a way that is absolutely as clean as a whistle. I also wanted to go with the best battery bank available for my situation. They determined that if they removed the slide out battery tray where six golf cart batteries sat that they could install six 2-volt Lifeline glass matt batteries in the cabinet. Since the Lifeline's are maintenance free I wouldn't need the tray any longer. This gave me over 1200 amp hours of storage. Jim and Renda went to work. From watching them it was easy to see that Renda's experience working with Jim allowed her to anticipate his needs and stay ahead of him with required tools and parts, etc. If you were to see the final installation you would assume that it came from the factory the way it is now. Every single detail was attended to and I wouldn't change anything they did. The install is clean and absolutely perfect. Jim and Renda are pros who take pride in every single step of the installation process. And Larry and Debbie understood that I wanted to go with the best components and that is what I got. Once the install was completed (it was near close of business on Friday) they allowed me to sit overnight to check out my new system since I'd driven over 200 miles to reach Yuma. Then on Saturday Larry came to the shop and went through everything with me and answered all my questions. Since I'd decided to upgrade my remote control Larry set it up exactly like I wanted while making suggestions to help since he was/is the expert. And I do mean expert. Larry, Debbie, Jim and Renda are all experts. Since then I have sent Larry numerous e-mails with questions and he has always promptly answered my questions. I can honestly say that in my 68 years I have never dealt with a more professionally run company. I feel their pricing was honest, that their installation time was extremely efficient and that they did not try to upsell me unnecessarily. Here is an observation of the way they do business. While they were doing my install a gentleman who they had done an install for a couple of years previously stopped by. He was having a problem. Larry checked out the problem with bench testing and thought he'd resolved the issue. The next day the fellow came back and said that things worked fine for several hours and then the problem came back. Larry promptly said well that means the part is bad. He replaced it without a charge. He told the gentleman that the part should have lasted for at least six years and since it only lasted two it was his responsibility. I could not say enough positive things about Starlight Solar. They are absolutely the best. It is no wonder that people like me drive hundreds of miles to have them design and install their system.. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY!!!!!! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!!!!! Tom Garrett
