Walked in 5 minutes before closing and the staff were so nice. They didn't rush us, they didn't even tell us it was 5 mins before closing. Everybody was doing their sweeps of the store and offered to help us. We were just there for firewood. We got out of there just on time.

Normally I would give this store 5 stars, but after today, if I could I would give negative stars. Husband and I went to purchase 3 screw drivers, one of which was on sale from $7.52 to $3.49. However when we got up to the register it rang up at $7.52. We let the cashier know that the screwdriver had a yellow tag sale slip on it for $3.49. She called an area manager of her to verify. Turns out one of their employees put the wrong tag on the wrong item. At that point they couldn’t decide whether they were going to honor the price or not and called her a secondary manager. To which at this point she accused My Husband of taking the sticker off of another item and putting it over The original price tag where the screwdriver was hanging. Once she realized what she said, she tried to backpedal and say that a bunch of kids came in and we’re poking them. Are you kidding me? She then proceeds to tell my husband that they will NOT honor the Price that was marked where the screwdriver was hanging. This is literally a four dollar difference. We have lived in the area for over 20 years. And have been a long time customer of ace hardware. after the experience today, in the horrible, horrible customer service I will never shop at the store nor the new one they open in Manteca, nor the one in Escalon ever again. I was completely appalled that the manager had the audacity to blame us for moving the sticker ourselves.
