I’ve always been intrigued about solar. When we bought our Toyota Prius we were looking forward to the renewable aspect and also the savings on the mpg because we were doing a lot of traveling to and from Winter Park twice a day. Since 2015 I have been looking at solar companies and trying to figure out if its worth my aggravation or not. 6 years ago I vetted a couple solar companies and narrowed it down to 2 or 3. At first we had Momentum Solar in our scope. They were pushing the new microinverter technology that we liked, but due to the cost we decided to not get solar then. We waited about 2 years, we tried again to look at the market to determine if it made economic sense. The prices did come down and so we narrowed it down to 2 or 3 companies to choose from again. Momentum Solar came up in the runnings again but due to negative comments and extremely high dissatisfaction on the internet we passed on them. The second company SunRun came in and presented, but weren’t sold. So we decided to just let time pass and we would revisit. Spring of 2021 I decided to look into solar once more. Same thing. Researched top companies, narrowed it down to 3 and heard what they offered. The first company this time was SunRun and we found two problems. The first was overall post communication after the system is running. On the internet customers said they liked the company, but if they had issues and reached out to SunRun that it would be days before somebody got back to them. The second was using the outdated technology of string inverter, that if one panel went out the rest of the system did. The second company we saw was SunPower. The presentation was top of the line. What was discussed was already what I researched which is the best warranty along with microinverter technology. The thing that was different was the integration of being able to see on the SunPower app how the system is working and we actually saw a previous customers app working when the representative was here. The Third company I saw was Solar Bear. From what I gathered was they were a new company, they offered a decent panel with micro inverters but I couldn’t find enough information online to determine the customer service after sale. We chose SunPower after all our considerations and all the vetting of solar. The main reasons were that : 1. The presentations and knowledge was reflective of the company. Anytime we had a question it would be answered right then and there, no ‘I have to get back to you on that’. 2. The fact thats SunPower manufacturers, provides the warranty, and does the service work is what I found to be different than others. 3. This pandemic has effected supply chain shortages heavily. But with SunPower there would be no issues since because they are the sole company that handles everything. Not Company B buying it from Company C to then have company A install it. Day of install went smoothly… until COVID hit. The team were notified midday so the install had to stop. We received a call that there was a potential outbreak and we understood because these are interesting times. The installation crew tested positive so we had to wait approximately 2 weeks for our install to resume. Once they came back on site it was like nothing happened. The installers harnessed in and finished up our system with in 2 days. The next day that followed was repair work for the stucco and then finally we were able to pass our city inspection on 8/24/2021. Thank you for everyone that worked on this and if anyone needs a recommendation we are more then happy to share that Sincerely, Bernie & Carol Wolf

I almost decided not to go solar. My sister and brother in-law went and got solar about 5 years ago. My sister explained they were dealing with 3 - 4 companies all the time. The first company that knocked on their door, the second company that came and took pictures, the third company that installed their panels, the fourth company that financed their solar panels. After all said and done, they were still paying 2 bills, one to Duke and the second to dividend (finance company). The company who knocked on their door did NOT put enough solar panels but my family believing the sales person were taken advantage of. The company ‘offered’ to put more solar panels on to correct their mistake. Months and months go by. After a year of following up, we call and the phone is disconnected and online it says their out of business. The worst part is after 2 years of the system ‘working’ it stops. No solar energy is being made but my sister and brother in law are paying a full Duke bill and a full solar bill. That sold me for a couple years to never wanting to do solar Last summer I saw a tv commercial for solar and almost turned it off. It was about SunPower and the commercial was on for 30 minutes and it highlighted ALL the things to look out for. I wish my sister and brother law saw it but I called them anyways and told them I was going to see this company SunPower solar for the house. They almost had a heart attack and tried to push me away. I told them I made the consultation and they should come listen to what SunPower does (everything done by one company). Andrew came on time and in an electric car which helped sell the image! My sister and brother in law came with all the paperwork from the nightmare they’ve been dealing with. Andrew listened to their story and wanted to help them first before talking to me about solar. My brother in law are down the road so we went over and immediately Andrew saw the inverter was not connected properly with the drone he uses. We opened a IT ticket with Solaredge (inverter company) and that is in the process to get repaired. I’ve been a police officer for 30 years and what I’ve learned is the people who look out for other people first are the people you want to work with My install went great! They took care of everything in one day and cleaned up everything. Andrew couldn’t make it because he was out of town but stopped by and flew the drone around to make some videos and overall look of the quality of the install and made sure it was a 10/10. I’m going to be referring him anyone of my friends looking for Sunpower because every person I spoke with went above and beyond for my solar experience

My first contact with MidKnight Solar was around October 2020. During that time, Randimal was our professional who assisted me. We weren’t sure with moving forward with solar because COVID was still messing with the future so we decided to hold off. Randimal said not a problem and he understood. That if anything changes, for me to reach out to him. I circled back in March of this year because the solar advertisements were none stop. I looked at 3 companies but was not impressed. The SunPower package is what I wanted. Panels made in the US, install warranties are with SunPower, monitoring is done by SunPower. Reached out to Randimal to provide an updated proposal. I wrote down everything we had spoken about on a legal pad the first time so I had all the previous estimates saved. When the 2nd consultation came around I was upset the price had gone up. The price of all the minerals and resources used to manufacture solar (Copper, Lithium, Gold, etc.) are just going up and up. Randimal showed me the graph of years 5, 10, 15, 20 on all of this and I was throughly impressed on how the consultation is structured as an investment and not a sales pitch. I did not want panels on the front of the house or to be seen by the rode. The SunPower engineers adhered to my request and they made it work. Everything is perfect up until now and I’m excited for when the energy company grants me PTO so I can turn on the system.

I just wanted to say, "HUGE THANKS!!" to Randy our energy consultant for making this such a positive experience. When we first started the solar search there was a sea of possible companies to go with. But, once I spoke with Randy I knew that this was the right company. And, Randy did not let us down. His positive attitude, understanding, and honesty was very much appreciated. There was not one point where I could not call/text him and not get an answer back in minutes. That made the process of understanding all the steps from roofing to panel and battery installation much easier for my wife and I. So, again, thanks Randy for making this such a great experience, glad to know my home is fully powered on solar now!

Install is FINALLY happening after much anticipation! Original we were going to do it with our asphalt single roof but decided to go metal and ensure to probably never change the roof and never change the Sunpower panels since they last 40 years minimum. So that delay took us back about 4 months since we signed with Midknight in June. The rails are getting installed now but the panels are shortly to come. We were communicated the 425 watt panels we are to receive are in back order because of supply. Panels are made in America and my sales guy put it simply ‘people are buying too much’ which I found funny cause it’s one way to say ‘they’re selling too much.’ This whole process of looking was a lot and it took me 4 years in searching for the right company. Originally I got in touch with a contractor that sold Sunpower panels back in 2017. At the time they were 327 watts per panel and financially it didn’t look great cause it was too expensive so I passed. This go around I reached out to the same contractor and I also had the idea to call Sunpower so they can give me quotes directly from them. Midknight presented 3 options that were better than the contractor. 425 panel vs 370 panel. A 1.99 interest rate vs 2.99 interest rate. SunPower holds the contractors license for repairs versus a small company that might not be able to get to me. My neighbors started to ask me at install and Andrew is gonna speak to them and help them so Solar with Sunpower
