Stay Clear. I have had absolutely nothing but issues since the system was installed. No return phone calls, Nothing. Since the system was purchased and Installed we have had nothing but problems and issues with the system. The phone numbers provided go to a call center and all they say is they will create a work order. Nobody knows anything, service calls are almost impossible to get, then they finally show up and they told me they needed to get some parts, that was January 31st and here we are mid April and no phone call, email, no parts, going on 1 year that my system was installed and NOT once has it been working to full capacity. Something is always broke. My FPL Power bill is equal to my Solar bill so no savings at all, actually I am paying more now with solar then I was with just having FPL Power! There are so many other Solar companies out there, please do not choose this one. There is not even anyone to complain to as nobody of importance can answer a phone or allow me to transfer. This is far from over on my end as a bad review is not where this stops. I am just leaving this so other hard working individuals who are trying to make home improvements do not end up in the same situation as me. Read reviews and please do your homework before signing with any company.

My husband and I have both been trying to reach Excel Home Solar since mid-January. We have production issues on almost all of our solar panels. The only resolution customer service has had for us is to put in a work order. The work order has been placed and every week I call back to follow-up. No one has reached out to us as promised (several times). Customer service keeps telling me that the nearest Solar Technician will reach out to me to set up an appointment, still waiting. I even asked for their direct line so I could reach out myself but was told I could not. Our bills from FPL are very large and there is no end in sight. At this point, it seems like our home solar is a BIG SCAM. We are very unhappy with our experience with Excel Home Solar and hope they will make this right ASAP. Unfortunately, writing a bad review may be the only way we can get someone’s attention but if not, we will take legal action as our next step.

They have high ratings for a reason- the experience has been easy from the beginning. To begin- my salesperson, Ken Moring, provided me a no-nonsense presentation and answered my questions. He has also provided me weekly updates, since I contracted, informing me where 'I am in the process' (there is permitting, planning, installation, etc.). I appreciate that he has not missed a week. Next, my solar panels were installed last week. The two installers, Allen (lead) and Dorian, were incredibly professional and focused on timely installation without losing quality and aesthetic importance. I have attached pictures- you will note, on one of them, that you see ZERO wires. There are no wires. Period. You can't see them. The solar panels were also perfectly aligned on my roof. Look at your neighbors solar panels- I can almost promise that you will see wires, poor mounting, crooked mounting, etc. Not with Excel solar, and NOT with Allen and Dorian. This has been a great experience, thus far, and I encourage anyone who is not pursuing solar because of the hassle involved…that hassle does not exist here.

Thanks to Excel Home Solar's installation of our solar panels, we now have a leaky roof. We called them and were given the run-around - "we'll send someone out." Well, it's been several months and I still have a leaky roof (which was just redone a few months before they installed the panels) and nobody's been here to fix the problem. In the mean time, the ceiling is getting more damage with every rain. They were great until they got paid. After that, we've been on our own. We also had an issue with the hot water tank they sold us. We requested they install a drip pan, but since the type of tank wasn't "required" to have one, they have yet to honor our request. Both the roof and the hot water tank cycles have been called about several times, with the usual lip service from Gary about sending someone out. But that's all it was - lip service. It's been over 6 months now and there's been nothing done to handle anything by these guys. So much for their agreements. Don't trust this company. If there's a problem, you'll end up solving it yourself! Update: They did finally send someone over to fix the leaks. But it's a darn dirty shame it took several negative reviews, and letting them know I was leaving the negative reviews, before someone got off their butt and sent someone to fix the leaks. So far, the fixes appear to have been done correctly. We ended up paying someone else to handle the hot water tank.

We purchased a solar panel system last year from Excel Solar, which was purchased by Vista Energy Renewables. We were asked to provide one year's worth of electric bills. We were told REPEATEDLY that based on our previous usage, Excel Solar would calculate the appropriate number of panels we would need to produce 100% of our electricity needs. We were also told that the $185 monthly solar panels payment would be ALL we would pay forever because we would no longer be paying FPL anything--EVER. In fact, we were told that at year's end, FPL would be paying us for the excess electricity produced by the solar panels. NOT A SINGLE MONTH SINCE INSTALLATION HAS THE SOLAR PANEL PRODUCTION COVERED EVEN 50% OF OUR ELECTRICITY USAGE. We are now paying the installments for the solar panels purchase AND FPL...every single month. My husband just got off the phone with Vista Energy Renewables, and their "resolution" was to send a representative to sell us more panels!! BUYERS BEWARE--EMPTY PROMISES ARE HEADED YOUR WAY!
