Skyta Solar and Roofing - Oahu

Skyta totally blew away my expectations and provided such a warm and seamless experience. Their sales team didn’t apply too much pressure and made me feel confident in the sizing of my system. Lachelle and Kate were as professional as it gets and worked with HECO (the evil monopoly) to get everything approved quickly. Brock’s installation team not only installed all the equipment, but also made it look SO GOOD. The answered all of my questions during the installation, and when one of the pieces of equipment was determined to be defective, they had it replaced immediately. Even Matt from the upper management team got involved and went above and beyond to get equipment manufacturer to compensate me for the defective battery they were originally provide from Tesla. Top to bottom, this is the team you want to work with. Rest assured, Skyta will give you an amazing experience, and will ALWAYS be there to answer the phone!

$34K for the worst new roof in my neighborhood. Metal looks flimsy and thin. My contract for the full reroof included metal roofing and had over 100ft worth of lumber to replace old lumber. The working guy said they measured exactly but had so much metal and lumber left over. They left trash all over the place and all in my gutters. Please go w someone else. A company that has more experience and stands behind their work. These guys have given me excuse after excuse and stand me up when they say they are coming.

I have had the BEST experience with Skyta from day one, when their salesperson Ahmad came to my house and spent a lot of time with me detailing out the options. I wound up using Skyta for my residence and my rental property, and every aspect of of my experience with Skyta has been "A+". Ahmad was there for me every step of the way with clear instructions and explanations, and once we moved into the construction phase of the two projects, I got excellent customer service from Matt, Kate, Lachelle and Brock. One of the two jobs was completed prior to a huge storm we had in Dec which blew out all power for a night, but my house was protected with whole house batteries that kept everything running seamlessly while the rest of the neighborhood was in the dark! All the workmen have been very respectful and considerate, and I am a very happy customer. I have not had any problems with my new solar systems, but Iʻm sure that if any come up, Skyta will be there for me. I absolutely recommend this company, and all who work there, for anyone interested in adding solar to their home or business, or increasing the solar you already have. Mahalo, Skyta!!

We had hoped to leave a positive review following resolution of our install’s many issues but the issues drag on, Skyta continues to take no accountability or action, and a very expensive system that should be lowering our electricity costs is now exponentially increasing them. It has been a very tiring and frustrating experience. The project has been a nightmare since we signed the contract in August (6 months ago). The first project manager we were assigned continually submitted incorrect plans to our HOA and HECO delaying our install. We were assigned a new project manager and finally got the panels installed at the end of December. From the start, our panels have turned themselves off every single day at least once and sometimes multiple times halting our energy capture. The team we have been working with is very slow to take any action, does not communicate with us, and the service team will just randomly show up to our house without notice. Skyta cannot find anything wrong with the panels and regularly mentions it is probably an issue with the inverter and that we likely need a new one. We’ve continually asked how we can receive a new inverter and/or have Skyta order the new inverter over the past 2 months and have gotten nowhere. We got our first HECO bill after the install and were shocked to find out it was as high as pre-install despite having panels(not completely functional, but still should have helped) up the entire month. Then, we learned Skyta never completed our application to HECO so our system wasn’t even on the list to be reviewed and recognized. We reached out to HECO and they had not heard from Skyta regarding our project since October. It took us communicating with a company our contract states would be dealt with directly by Skyta to get a response from Skyta’s engineering team. We still do not know if the now completed application holds any weight, as our project manager no longer returns our emails, and we have to go through Skyta’s engineering team directly. Overall, we wish we did not have to go to the lengths of leaving this review, but the entire experience has been very disappointing and we are still sitting here with a useless system and no plan of action or updates from Skyta. They will be quick to get you to sign the contract, but beware of the many problems before, during, and after the install you will experience.

Great experience. Had a weather delay and scheduling change but all changes were communicated in a timely manner. They kept me informed of the progress and when we ran into issues during the reroof, some repairs were started without coordination. However, this was quickly resolved to my satisfaction and job was completed. Great experience, especially being off island when repairs were completed and will use Skyta for any future needs.
