We're @OurMixedJourney on Instagram and Our Mixed Journey On YouTube. We've been collaborating with Go Power for months to try a trio of their new products. The understanding was that we would provide honest reviews of all three. They didn't hesitate to say of course, and it makes sense, because we've been blown away by all of them. The DuraCube on its own is an awesome and lightweight battery powered generator. So, we are able to consistently charge laptops, phones, tablets, camera batteries, and more with 0 issues or smoke from a normal generator. The battery lasts forever, and we always know how much we have left because it gives you an exact number on the digital screen. When it's paired with the DuraLite expansion 100 watt folding panel, which is literally light enough for Gabe to pick up with one or two fingers, it becomes a game changer for outdoor living and adventures. It would also make a great combo to have as an emergency power source at home for blackouts. The other amazing addition to our van, is the matching 100 watt super slim panels for the roof. Our van, Vinnie, came with 190 watts on the roof, but living in in Vinnie meant adding a rooftop carrier for extra space. When we did that, we sacrificed half of our solar. Since adding the 2 slim 100s, they've kept us topped off and even pulling in plenty of power on cloudy days. Between the easy and friendly customer service and the quality of all their products, we are super confident and happy to recommend Go Power for all things solar.

This spring I acquired a full Go Power! solar system for my travel trailer as part of a partnership with the company. The system included the Solar Elite kit which includes: (2) 190-watt solar panels, a 2000-watt inverter / charger, wiring for the panels and inverter, and a host of other fuses and accessories to aid the installation. As for batteries, I selected a single 250 amp-hour lithium battery to replace my (2) 100 amp-hour wet cell batteries. Why Go Power!? Their reputation. I’ve heard Go Power folks interviewed on podcasts like the RV Atlas and was always impressed how the rep made solar seem accessible. If you’ve ever shopped for solar, you know it can be daunting, but between the Go Power! Solar Guide and their online calculator, it made the complicated field of Solar seem pretty easy to understand. After a full camping season, including a month on the road in the western United States, here’s my take: Pros: The solar panels are well constructed and come with a 25-year warranty, which is great The inverter charger is really powerful; rather than just being an inverter, it includes three components (which saves space in my camper!): 2000 pure sine wave inverter (good for high tech gadgets like laptops and tablets) + 100 amp battery charger + automatic transfer switch Not only were we able to boondock (camp off grid) this summer, enjoying AC appliances like our Instant Pot and coffee maker, but I was surprised how nice it was to pull off the road in the middle of a drive day and fire up the microwave to heat up some food Go Power! Includes a lot of gear in their kits (fuses, wires, connections, etc.) to get you started. When I bought my potable panel a few years ago, I chose Go Power! partially because they included a bunch of adapters that I could use for different applications – I didn’t see other brands doing that Customer support is FANTASTIC. I’ve never installed anything as sophisticated as a solar system before and a few times I ran into some head-scratching issues. The tech support folks were patient, took their time with me, and were always extremely helpful. Lithium is AWESOME – this battery is great because I can discharge much lower than 50% (which is the case with all other battery chemistries), it charges faster, weighs less, and last much longer the traditional batteries. Go Power! Did a great job with this unit. Cons: While I had plenty of wire to install the solar panels and wire up the DC side of the inverter charter to the battery, there were no wires included in the kit to wire up the AC side. Not a big deal, but something to keep in mind when you’re putting your budget together The solar charge controller connects to your mobile phone over Bluetooth, which is very cool, but the range is pretty limited – you have to be very close to the charge controller to get a connection and the unit I have has a bug where sometimes it won’t reconnect to your phone – support assured me they are working on the problem and will handle it within warranty when a fix comes out Overall, I’m thrilled with our Go Power! Solar system. It gives us incredible freedom to camp comfortably even when we're away from RV campground hookups. With this system, we’ll be able to take extended trips to our family homestead out west or other interesting places like BLM land or Harvest Hosts.

The GoPower solar elite charging system is an awesome package to get almost everything you will need in one nice bundle. It can be challenging to piece together all the different components needed in an electrical system, but GoPower packages all that stuff in one convenient spot, even including the necessary fuses, wires, and connectors. The inverter/charger is very reliable and capable of handling some pretty large electrical loads both charging and inverting. We frequently use our inverter to run large electronics like a blender, water kettle, or hair dryer and it works like a charm. It’s also nice to have the included inverter remote to turn on and off when not in use. The 380W of solar plus the charge controller provide us ample and efficient power which allows us to stay off grid for multiple days in a row. When parking in the direct sun, it’s plenty to keep the battery topped off. What I love about this system is that all the necessary wires, fuses, and components were all included with clear instructions, which make it easy to install, even with minimal electrical experience. The components have all been reliable after months of continuous use in our bus. One minor downside is that this package does not include a battery monitor that shows you a % remaining. The charge controller does have Bluetooth that shows you the voltage, but this voltage can be hard to match to a % remaining. I would recommend adding a battery monitor to your system. One other thing to mention if you’re new to electrical- while this package does include almost everything you will need for a complete electrical system, there are, of course, a few other components that you will likely need to “complete” an entire off grid electrical system (depending on your application). (E.g., a DC fuse panel for individual components, buss bars, and a master kill switch). No electrical kit can include everything you may need, but this one certainly has most of them. Overall I do recommend this package, especially for vans or RVs, if you are somewhat new to the DIY electrical world, or if you want to get a decent amount of power without breaking the bank. This has everything you need. if you want a little more power (solar or battery) you can always add more later!

I travel out of my truck full time. I find myself in new areas and surroundings every day. The best part is knowing I have a reliable solar, that’s charging up my gopower battery. Once I had installed my solar set up from gopower, I was nervous because it was my first experience with any type of solar generated system. I can confidently say that it’s changed everything for me and I can finally hit the road for months at a time and have full confidence i’ll be able to stay powered up the whole time. I highly recommended gopower. If you’re curious I have the “110 Watt Flexible Solar Kit”

I’ve been using the portable line for a few months now and it’s been a great addition to my solar setup. The portable power station is my favorite part and it charges pretty quickly with the 12V cord. Plus it comes with a few different charging options + jumper cables.
