Super experience at CBI Solar! Mark was extremely helpful, knowledgeable (and patient!!) explaining the interactions between various Victron controllers the solar panel and the batteries in our Sprinter van …..then tweaking it for maximum efficiency. We really appreciate the great customer service and the time Mark spent with us. The 1.5 hour drive from Calgary was very worthwhile.

After an endless amount time shopping around for a small solar system, I was glad to have CBI supply my RV solar system components. ( I didn’t think CBI would bother with the small stuff, I was wrong) Mark was incredible to deal with, before, during and after I installed my system, even had him working on 2 battery cables that I forgot to order on short notice. This system is more than I wanted but sure happy that I went with Marks recommendations on the components. This victron connect app and Bluetooth connection to my 3 components is super easy to use. If I had to do this again it would be a no brainer on who I would buy from and what I would buy. Keep it local folks. November 24 - So after our summer I can now evaluate my solar system. (We had our trailer in a campground at gull lake, no services at all) I have 4 - 6 volt deep cycle flooded lead acid batteries, connected series/parallel for 12 volts. Before: going outside to start the generator, providing 120 volts, ran 4-5 hours a day to keep the batteries fully charged, make a pot of coffee, make toast and use the microwave, which about every 6 days cost $26.00 for gas. (not really a true cost as there are other factors of running an engine) After: The solar system, we had a fairly wide open spot, kept the batteries, 94% TO 100% charged everyday except for the bad smoky days we had, throughout the rest of the summer. Turning the inverter on with the bluetooth app inside the trailer, I was able to make the coffee, toast and use the microwave, watch a movie or the news on TV, listen to the radio outside, use an electric pressure washer the odd time, all off our batteries. I never did this to recoup any money, but I don't think that I used one full tank of gas on the generator the rest of the summer and the tank was still half full when we brought the trailer home for the winter. Not have to start and listen to the generator running was worth it to me. I played around with the direction and angle of the solar panel via the bluetooth app and was able to see real time how this affected the output of the panel. The pure sine wave inverter/battery charger/transfer switch is an incredible component and again bluetooth connected to monitor real time the input/output of the system. Victron is like a drug.....I want more of it. UPDATE Sept. 9, 2022: I have upgraded to a 3000 watt inverter, another solar charge controller with 2 more solar panels, all victron except the panel. WOW the sound of silence especially now that the generator basically sits and collects dust. I get questions at the campground about my system and the cost turns them off as they try and compare the "noma" 12 volt trickle charge the batteries solar panel/charge controller but it's like comparing a peddle car to a corvette. Next addition is to punt the flooded lead acid batteries and go lithium.

CBI Solar in Red Deer well deserves a 5 Star rating. We purchased an upgrade to our existing old solar system for our off grid cottage in northern Saskatchewan. Mark with his expertise offer several solutions. As our cottage is over 10 hours away we had an electrician work with Mark at CBI Solar to hook it up. With an in person meeting, drawings and a few phone calls the hookup was a success. I think the highlight of the complete experience was when Mark called us personally on July 1(his day off) to check in with us to see if we had further questions regarding the solar. THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE . If your looking for a solar system give Mark a call you will not be disappointed

Mark and his staff are amazing! We had travelled from the US and were going through Alberta. We had put together a solar system in our trailer with Victron components before we left home and I was not confident that I had done everything correctly. We stopped at CBI Solar, and Mark and Glendon spent almost 3 hours with us, going through the system, configuring the settings and making up some new cables. I highly recommend Mark and CBI Solar. Throughout the entire process they were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you all so much for your help!!
