Worst experience ever! Everything is ok until my kid got the green belt. The teacher only mentioned it will take 3 months(instead of 2 months before) to get the promotion test. After 4 months(3 weeks on vacation), still could not get the promotion test. Asked the reason, she said your kid need to come more often(3 times a week instead of twice a week before). However she never told me about it. Feel very upset, next day called to ask, she changed the word and said the promotion time was decided by the teacher, your kid was not ready, what a liar! what a shame!

Dear Mr He, Thank you for taking the time to communicate to us your concerns with respect to our services. We deeply regret that our services did not meet your expectations and we would gladly try to work with you in resolving this matter to your satisfaction. As you already know, the belt levels are a matter of skillsets. Unfortunately, different students progress at different rates with regards to learning various techniques. It was never our intention to guarantee that students are eligible to take the test if they attend a class for more than three months. As you can imagine,m it would be unfair to progress students on the sole basis of attendance as opposed to a combination of attendance and skill. The estimation of three months is an average, which most of our students meet. Ultimately it is up to the individual's Taekwondo skills, and the master has the experience and expertise to determine whether the individual has met the threshold of that skillsets to the test. To promote a student on their attendance and not their merit would be unfair to the other students of the class. This was fact was kindly explained in the rules of promotion test whenever you asked. We have always explained to parents that their children should attend a class as much as possible and practice as hard as they can in order to gain the necessary skillets to take promotion tests. We completely understand your daughter's disappointment, and we greatly empathize with her situation. As a master of RMAT, of course I can allow her to take the test for this time. However, this is not the RMAT policy and I will be doing so knowing that this is a good idea for her in a long term. Her success in the program will ultimately come form self-motivation and personal growth. I want to help build your daughter's confidence by practicing Taekwondo with her, and I believe that this is only possible when she herself thinks that she has gained the same skillsets as everyone who took the promotion test. As her master, I only have the best interest of my students at heart. I have always tried, and will continue to try me best to help her to achieve her goals as her master. Pleas let us know anything else we can do to help resolve this matter for you and your daughter. We greatly appreciate your feedback, as it will assist us in becoming better at what we do.

Great atmosphere and very organized/structured. Our son is in the growing cubs (Age 4 to 5) and this place provided both fun and discipline. The smaller groups give a much better master to student ratio than the other centers we have seen. We are very happy being a part of RMAT!

Incredible Instructors - by far the best martial arts school in Oakville. Strong learning and family environment. Exceptional for kids and all ages.
