I've been a student of Lin Martial Arts for almost 15 years. Professor Lin's intricate knowledge and passion for the art of Brazilian Jujitsu is like no other. The students at Lin Martial Arts come from all walks of life; they are kind, welcoming and helpful. Newcomers and veterans of the art alike train and improve together. The team atmosphere of Lin Martial Arts is pervasive. The club is clean and large. I often weight train on site as well. If you are looking to try something new, meet new friends, and feel confident and empowered, this is the best place in the city to do just that!

Great professor and amazing coaches. They are always willing to answer questions. There's tons of mat space and the class hours just fit my schedule perfectly.

If you live in the Markham Region, this is the place to train at! I have had nothing but positive experiences here. The instruction is top level (3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu) and its home of the 30 day free trial. I Strongly RECOMMEND this academy!!! Try it out and change your life!

I joined for a year and a half but I had to move out of province, so I attempted to cancel my membership. I signed the paperwork and followed the process with the head trainer and he assured me that my membership was cancelled, we even shook hands on it and I told em I'd be back if I ever moved to Toronto. The next month I found out I was charged again, and I called in to get them to explain it they told me my membership was cancelled but gave me the whole 'processing time' excuse and refused to refund the month's membership. I let it slide because I was out of province and I couldn't go in to chat with them to sort it out. The next month I was charged again, at which point I had called in again and but the same 'yeah, no worries, your membership is definitely cancelled, but we're not going to give you your money back'. I had enough of it so I went to my bank to pay for a stop payment. The funny thing was, they kept trying to charge me for months after I had the stop payment on 😂. If you want to join a gym that charges you long after you cancel your membership, don't hesitate to start today! What a headache this whole ordeal was. It's one thing to 'accidentally' charge a month and tell you otherwise, AFTER following their paperwork and their process, this is just straight up malicious. They knew exactly what they were doing. Sheesh!

I have been training Brazilian Jiujitsu at Lin Martial Arts in Markham for about 11 years and the experiences, skills and personal relationships that I have gained since I’ve started are all life changing. Aside from the expert instruction in jiujitsu and the amazing training space, Steve Lin really has created a safe space for all people to start and enjoy a martial arts lifestyle. Wether you are looking to become a competitive fighter or looking for a fun place to get in shape, Lin Martial Arts is definitely a place that you can count on. I decided to try jiujitsu because of some injuries that I acquired skateboarding. As a student in teachers college I wanted to stay fit but not have to show up to school and work with injuries. I started here with zero jiujitsu experience as a student and through the years I have had the experience of competing in tournaments and I have learned techniques can help me protect myself and people I care about. Being a member has also afforded me the chance to learn how to teach BJJ in our instructor program. A lot of these skills help me everyday in the classroom and at home with my own kids. It’s an awesome gym and community to be a part of!
