If you're looking for a place with expert instruction, a focus on traditional Kung Fu as well as more modern forms of Martial Arts, this is the place. I have trained at over 10 different schools in more than 15 different styles over the last 30 years and I can honestly say that Iron Dragon is one of the top schools I've ever belonged to. Granted the gym itself is in need of a bit of work, but don't let looks deceive you. Every class is taught by the master instructor himself, a man who's been studying the martial arts longer than I've been alive. But I'll let the numbers speak for themselves. 16 years of excellent MA instruction in the same location, and many of the original students are still coming to the club regularly to train. Can't say the same about most MA clubs of any style.

In response to the rating by Marianna Zhabokritsky... I have reviewed our records and can find no record of any contact with this person. All interested parties are offered a free trial class yet there is no evidence that this person even made a visit to this club. A bogus review by a competitor? I hope not. Although we are not a fancy facility we maintain a high standard of martial arts training. This is conveyed via a hands on trial class. I am disturbed that people can post such negative comments with no evidence of them ever having visited the facility. We encourage positive thinking through positive physical training. I find it very hard to believe that anyone who gives our club a legitimate trial will walk away with such negative opinions. I urge you all to come on in and have a free trial class and see for yourself why we have served Durham for over 17 years!

Sifu Karl is an amazing instructor who teaches from his heart. My son has been bullied for most of his school life not only did the Iron Dragon Kickboxing & Kung Fu Club help his confidence they treat you like family. Several members even went out of their way to contact my sons school and get action taken against bullying. This is a small club with huge heart and discipline. The kids are being taught true martial arts and that you only fight to protect and defend yourself. Ask yourself if you want a club with great moral values and an instructor who cares about his community or a fad club where your child is just a paycheck? My son and now myself will train here for life. Michelle Collins

My son enjoys Karl's classes very much. Karl is dedicated and patient. Classes are a good size and my son is exhausted at the end. Thanks Karl.
