have been away from any golf courses for different reasons but the bug has caught me again and this track was highly recommended. has a very good local reputation that sometimes can be attributed to small number of choices but in this case I have been very pleasantly surprised. staff is very friendly, ownership is hands on, pricing for golf, food and drinks are very reasonable. have only played twice but the layout is very challenging for all players, with a very nice balance for risk/reward play. my only drawbacks are two fold; lack of warm up or practice range and Hole 8. range space is a premium and can be a money pit for a course so I can live with that. Hole 8 now.... there is a special place for whomever designed this hole and those who like it. tight tee shot, medium layup with a long approach to small elevated green that is basically a turtle back. the members who I played it with told me about a local "I hate 8" club and I can understand why. it's quirky and unforgiving, much like the game itself but it's the one hole I would blow up and start again. this feeling may change over the summer but I'll report back in late August 😉 John (owner) should be proud of his family's course, the strong traditions and the friendliness of his staff. the members obviously feel it's a 2nd home and treat it with respect. I'll play again and bring friends.

Definitely the best of the 3 courses in Warkworth. Always well maintained and very sloped and great greens and bunkers (if you happen to go in them). I have played this course numerous times and will continue to play it. Most definitely needs a new club house though.. losing a star for that as it is run down, and designated parking rather than on the lawn would be nice. Seems cheap for a nice course.

John Hutchinson and family have been running Warkworth Golf Club for 51 years. It is a challenging course, featuring interesting architecture, impressive scenery and the absolute best greens for many miles around. Most of all members and guests are always treated wonderfully and the 19th hole provides a perfect end to an enjoyable day on the links.
