The Healing Room

For anyone who hasn’t had the misfortune of attending this “spa”, don’t waste your time or money. I bought a gift certificate for a friend months ago, and she has not been able to use it yet because the woman that runs it has had multiple excuses why she’s had to cancel appointments, or just plain not answer the door when my friend showed up for her most recent appointment. I asked to have my money refunded so I could buy one somewhere else but was told she doesn’t give refunds. It is ran in a run down dirty house, and is not reliable. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

This is not a review of this spa since it was owned by myself. The few reviews on here are misleading and one coming from a previous employee who was let go. The most recent 1 star regarding a gift certificate purchased is very hurtful. I will publicly state that her friends appointment was canceled due to a Canadian Soldier that was missing in the Ottawa River and I was apart of his rescue for 6 full days because I am a whitewater kayaker. I was on the river the day that the young man went missing and felt that I would be of assistance to the military and the police in his search. When I contacted my clients to let them know that I was searching for this 20 yr old young man, I was not faced with one complaint from anyone. I was on holidays and on the last day of a whitewater course when Sam went missing. I took a week off work, without pay to help find Sam. I made a promise to his Mom that I would bring him home to her. I assisted with his search from early in the morning to sundown for 6 full days until the OPP helicopter saw his body come to the top of the water. I tried my best to get all of the clients rebooked to times that would suit them best. Since I worked from home, I was willing to do their services whenever it suited them the best. I have always worked hard for my clients and I find it very insulting some of the lies that have been posted about my past business. Gift certificates from any business have never been refunded. I invite anyone to go to Walmart or Canadian Tire and ask for a refund of their gift card. This client did not make an appointment and show up at my house. My house was not dirty. She has never been in my past residence in Pembroke. When some people don't get their way they enjoy posting ridiculous and slanderous comments. I offered many different times and dates for this client and nothing was good enough for them. Such a shame that someone needs to say such horrible and hurtful things....

I cannot begin to say how much I love this Spa. The service is outstanding, the staff are all exceptionally friendly and very willing to help you out with everything. From the moment that I walked into the door, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who showed me where to leave my shoes, helped me pick out a pair of sanitized flip flops (what a wonderful idea by the way for thinking of your clients safety!). Next she gave me some paperwork to fill out about my health, again another thing that I never thought I would have to do for a facial or spa services but after the receptionist explained to me that they use a lot of natural products that have essential oils in them and how they can harm you if you are on certain medications or have health problems, I understood why. My Esthetician greeted me with a friendly smile and introduced herself then helped me pick out my polish. The music was perfect, the atmosphere was calming, the facial was out of this world, and the manicure and pedicure is beautiful! My polish is still on my toes and the gel polish on my hands lasted for over 2 weeks! I would highly recommend anyone to come to The Healing Room Wellness Spa is you want superb service at a reasonable price.

Worst customer service experience I have ever had. As soon as we walked in we were treated with attitude by the receptionist because we were late, even though we called ahead saying we would be and asked whether we should reschedule. We paid upfront to make their day easier, and ended up paying for service not rendered and were completely downgraded by the staff when we questioned the recent price change - The appointment was booked prior to the price change coming into effect, yet we were still charged the new, higher, prices. We were not informed of the price change upon booking, only once we showed up they had a sign on the desk which the receptionist rudely referenced when we questioned the price as if we should be checking her desk for price changes as a new client...I went in hoping to find a place to periodically pamper myself but sadly will not be going back ever again. The lady who did my pedicure was great, but the other ladies were completely rude and handled the situation in the worst way possible. Went home feeling stressed and frustrated - Not the way you should leave a spa.
