Nao’s X-ray Massages I have been working with Registered Massage Therapist Nao Nasu at Downtown Toronto Wellness for several years. I say “working with” because it is work – very nuanced, very productive, and very healing work – to lie on his table, as both parties engage actively to address my muscles’ chronic pain/bad habits. Nao has what I think of as little cameras in this fingertips – or perhaps X-ray hands? He does listen to however I verbalize the problem, my take on what’s wrong, and yet I can tell he is able to see much more. If I say it’s “there”, he’ll work like heck just to the north or south of that point, somehow managing to release the muscle in question. Now, this could be due to his understanding of anatomy or his knowledge of several traditional and progressive modalities. But it’s also intuition. That intuition goes beyond the physical; Nao is humble and funny in how he projects utter safety and non-judgment (for example, he would never use the phrase ‘bad habits’ as I did above). He says less than he could; there’s no need to name how I’m obviously depressed or overwhelmed. But his treatment addresses it, compassion silently flowing from his energy into the broken places in my heart as well as my body. I also help people for a living, and like to think I do it a bit like Nao does. But for now that still means (though I’m getting better at it) that I am deskilled asking for support. Allowing myself to be helped, over the long term, by someone so trustworthy has been one of the great gifts of my adulthood. Oh and I can walk too so that’s a plus.

Tae is the best physio therapist I've ever had. He's determined to fix you and he will. His assistant, Sheila, is also great.

I have been a patient of Dr. Virk for many years; he is patient, kind and very accommodating. I recently started seeing both Michelle, their chiropodist and Barbara, the Acupuncturist. I highly recommend everyone here! They are all wonderful and help me stay active and moving. I have never had such a relaxed and more holistically therapeutic experience than I do with my visits with Barbara and I encourage everyone to try acupuncture with her!

I had a really good experience at St.Lawrence Wellness Centre. Dr. Virk (chiropractor) was really nice and quickly identified the source of my lower back pain. I really appreciate his kindness, patience and that he took time to explain what was wrong, what he was going to do and what he recommended. I highly recommend this centre.

Dr. Virk is amazing! He's a patient, caring and knowledgeable practitioner. Takes his time to understand your history and correct your injury. I highly recommend him.
