Words cannot describe how grateful I am for the Pain and Wellness Centre (PWC). The team is truly phenomenal. They are game changers. They supported my healing, recovery and growth. From the second you through the door you feel seen, heard and cared for. I cannot speak highly enough of the tremendous care, compassion, support, attention and medical expertise I received. I would not be where I am today without them. Thank you!

As someone who is recovering from a traumatic sports injury and living with chronic pain, I lost much hope of living a fulfilling life. I was trapped in my pain and as a graduate student, I felt as if I couldn’t keep up and succeed in reaching my goals. The Pain & Wellness Centre changed everything for me. Their unique, holistic approach to pain management that focuses on the mind-body-social connection has given me control back over my life. The wide variety of practitioners have each given me useful tools to help implement new behaviours (ex/ a new diet, meditation, exercise and training). Not only have I experienced a decrease in pain symptoms but have also become more independent, confident, and fulfilled in my day to day life. Come with an open mind, do the work, and find that balance to regain control. Don’t let the pain fool you into thinking you can’t have your life back!

Honestly, this team of wonderful professional people have given me the tools to move forward with my life and not let chronic pain determine who I am. The whole team have helped me to rediscover that I am a strong person regardless of a painful injury. The whole program helped me to become a more well rounded insightful person. Everyone truly cares about the whole person and not just treating your injury. Demetry my Chiropractor has helped navigate my pain and over come my fears of using my knee and playing soccer. I want to thank the whole team for there support and encouragement throughout the whole process. THE BEST TEAM AND PEOPLE EVER!!!

Words cannot describe how grateful I am for the care I have received at the Pain and Wellness Centre (PWC). Before the PWC, I met with countless specialists who sent me for every medical test imaginable, yet no one could explain my pain or figure out how to help me. My chronic pain had taken over my life and it felt like I was out of options for how to cope with it. When I started at the PWC, it was the first time I ever felt validated and understood by a group of medical professionals. They knew exactly how to both push and support me simultaneously, and we quickly started to unpack the various layers contributing to my chronic pain. My team believed in me when I didn't believe in myself, and I was continuously shocked by my progress! When I arrived at the PWC I had countless functional limitations, couldn't sit for long periods of time and had a very limited range of motion in my neck/arms/back. I am now exercising with heavy weights 3 times per week, driving for the first time in years and just returned from a very active trip in Europe. I am also very excited for my return back to school in September, as I had to defer for the year because of my pain. Most importantly, I feel more in control of my life and my ability to cope with pain than I ever believed possible. I can't thank my team at the PWC enough and I hope everyone can experience this high level of care when dealing with chronic pain.

This review is in appreciation of the team at the Pain and Wellness Centre. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the compassion, guidance and support you have shown me throughout the course of my rehabilitation after my workplace accident. Prior to finding the doctors and practitioners at the clinic, I was struggling to find adequate medical attention. My injury happened at the very beginning of the first lockdown in March of 2020. I was bounced around from office to office and received no care from any of the doctors that I saw. As a result, my injury went untreated for many months. Due to the neurological nature of my injury, the lack of proper medical attention put me in an even worse situation as my body experienced a severe amount of pain that was relentless and unaddressed. By the time I found the PWC, I was desperate and feeling hopeless. At the time, I could not see how I was ever going to be able to overcome the injury. I was scared, in pain and discouraged after being refused treatment by multiple doctors and practitioners. I would like to take this opportunity to send a special thank you to Dr. Angela Mailis, Dr. Alex Mailis, Louisa Mailis, Nada Elfeki, Chelsea Duncan, Dr. Christine Cho and the entire PWC clinic. The doctors, practitioners, administrators and front desk staff. They have been and are helping me get my life back on track after my injury. Physically, mentally and spiritually. They’ve treated me with all of the warmth and care in the world. They are more than a medical team. They are friends and family.
