I would give 0 stars if I could. I have been insured with The Personal for 4 years now and they increased my rate by 27%/$40 per month because of a minor speeding ticket I received 2.5 years ago (first and only conviction). When I called to find out why the increase was so steep, the broker actually told me I should be grateful that the ticket was only discovered now and began listing a number of factors as to why else my premium increased. The most ridiculous one was that because I drive such a common vehicle and there are many of them on the road; there's a higher % chance that the same make & model would be involved in an accident. I shopped for better rates and found 2 companies offering a cheaper rate than I am currently paying (Coseco & Sonnet). When I called The Personal to see if they could match my quote they said "No." and offered absolutely nothing to keep me as a customer. Absolutely terrible customer service, especially towards a loyal customer.

Nobody ever expects that they will have an accident, and then one day out of nowhere you find yourself in that very position. It is good to know that there are reliable insurance companies out there that will go the extra mile (kilometer) to ensure that you are well taken care of. Beyond the exceptionally affordable prices The Personal offers I can attest that their claims department is second to none. Making a claim was incredibly easy and they had my car dealt with in a timely fashion. When I received my car back there was a safety issue with the repairs and The Personal went above and beyond to provide me with a rental car just so I can safely travel to see my family for the holidays. Thank you very much for being there for me and making me feel like an extremely valued customer!

Stay away! Stay away! Stay away! This is a horrible company - I wish I could afford a lawyer. They put a property insurance claim record on my file when I was only inquiring, and they shared it with all other insurance companies as a claim!! They increased my car insurance premiums without notice. They canceled my home insurance while I was traveling for very ambiguous reasons.

Price of house insurance doubled in 5 years. No claims were made in over 20 years. Understandably claims made in the area with flooding, hails etc can certainly affect this rate, but $780 five years ago and now $1900 (increases of up to $250 a year)! And we had no claims what so ever....something is wrong! It would almost seem like gouging on loyal customers. When I called they had nothing to say, just that it is going up everywhere. I spoke to many and this is not the case. Hum...will be changing company asap! Very disappointed.
