I was working on getting house insurance with my current insurer on a new property I purchased. Requested on June 3rd and filled out the form as well. June 22th comes along and I had to correct some misunderstandings about the insurance. Ok, no problem we still have a lot of time. June 28th comes around and the insurer sends me an email confirming everything. I received a call later that day and because the house is over 80 years old, I had to go with a non-standard insurer. They quoted me $435/mo My mouth just dropped. As I was pondering and discussing the details with my wife I decided to give Brandi a call. I called Brandy on the 29th at 2:30 pm and in a panic explained to her my dilemma. She started to work on an application right away. Through various emails, chats, and phone calls Brandi was getting the necessary information from me for the application. The closing of my house was July 4th, and I needed insurance by 12noon at the latest according to my lawyer. Thursday end of the day came and we still didn’t have insurance but Brandi was able to quote me at $150/mo. The day after was the Canada Day holiday and I was starting to panic and stress out even more. It was the middle of the day on Saturday when I contacted Brandi again in my panicky mood and right away she contacted Joey who was taking care of the details to see what the progress was. Joey called me and assured me everything will be ok and will be done soon. Sunday afternoon, Brandi sent me the insurance papers to sign. My wife and I signed everything and by Monday morning Joey sent the insurance binder to the lawyer. The lawyer confirmed he received it. I want to thank Brandi and her colleague Joey and Joey’s close relationship with the underwriter for their amazing and hard work in getting this completed for my closing. They worked over the long weekend to make this happen and I can’t say enough how thank full my wife and I are for them helping us in our time of need with very short notice. They made a miracle happen! Brandi saved me $285/mo !, so yes I would highly recommend Brandi and the folks at Merit Insurance. They worked very hard over a long weekend to make this work.
