My parked car got hit by a snow plow. The snow plow company owner decided to go through insurance. We found we both had Aviva Insurance. 'Great!" I thought, 'this should be quick and painless.' My truck was finished after about 2 weeks and when the Aviva suggested Autobody shop called to tell me to pick it up they said I had to pay the $500 deductible and I had to pick up the truck within 24 hours or I would get charged the extra rental fee. After multiple unanswered emails and phone messages to my adjuster in Markham I finally got through to somebody at Aviva. They said the other Aviva adjuster had not got back to them about releasing the liability. The claim was 2 weeks ago and my Aviva adjuster said it was another Aviva adjuster's fault. 'So because you can't talk with one of your own coworkers I have to pay $500 to pick up my truck?' Insanity! I know it will be reimbursed but I cannot believe this customer service. I have spent the last 2 days talking with the owner of the snow plow company, his broker and random people at Aviva, trying to get this sorted out. Aviva people are sure great at reminding me of the contract I signed about paying the deductible but not as good at walking down the hall to talk with a coworker to help a customer out. Obviously management is not reading these reviews so I don't see any improvement on the horizon but at least other people can be warned. DO NOT CHOOSE AVIVA...even if they are the cheapest option...you will pay for it in the end...pick the next cheapest option.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. Horrendous customer service. They are in the middle of removing a FRAUDULENT at fault claim (which they have admitted via email was wrong, and said they are removing) and will not return calls, email, anything. Was supposed to get a call back from a manager 1 week ago, nothing. Cheque for a refund, nothing. I need to call from a blocked number to get a hold of the rep taking care of the claim. Never use this company. I highly recommend you shop elsewhere.

Got rear ended by your insurance client. Simple situation straight rear ended accident, could use Fault Determination Rules (FDRs) under Ontario Insurance Act. 6. (1) This section applies when automobile “A” is struck from the rear by automobile “B”, and both automobiles are travelling in the same direction and in the same lane. R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 668, s. 6 (1). (2) If automobile “A” is stopped or is in forward motion, the driver of automobile “A” is not at fault and the driver of automobile “B” is 100 per cent at fault for the incident. Take way too long, and way too complex.

STAY AWAY!! Impossible to make a claim with this company. They give you the runaround and promise some other representative will call you to proceed with a claim. Liars, because nobody called and still got nowhere with them.
